Just had an email from air France. Industrial action between June 11 and June 14. No exact details yet. We're supposed to be flying with them from Manchester on the 11th. They'll let us know a day before if our flights are affected. Nice of em. Really gutted for you, aled! Not sure if it helps to soften the blow, but if that right, my brother's flight on 10 June is not affected. Thank God for Royal Dutch - at least I can walk it from Amsterdam if I have to...

Plan B already in place. Drive! Finish work 5pm on Friday. Drive to Calais. Should get there by 1am. Catch Chunnel train. Bit of a kip somewhere on other side then 8hrs to Bordeaux. Should get there mid afternoon. Fingers crossed.

HI all I was hoping to take the car over to France for a road trip has anyone considered driving down to Bordeaux? If so how are you going about it? hoping to take the camping gear etc in the car and pitch up for a few days, any help would be greatly appreciated. diolch Cymru am byth Car? Car! I'll be screaming past you on the 10th on my silver vfr1200 welsh flags akimbo, easy run to bordeaux but fucking boring on me bike........even at warp speed....... I'm going over Weds night and driving down on the Thursday then back up on the Monday. Ferry been changed tonight because of strike but now going to Caen instead of Le Havre so less distance, less driving, less fuel and more beer time

This is sort of a long shot as I appreciate the distance to travel, but nobody has heard of any busses down to Bordeaux from S.Wales? I have a flight from London on the 8th but may have to travel down later in week due to work commitments. Cheers Yes spare seat from South Wales midnight this Thursday to La Rochelle. Includes transport to and from match. Also have 5 nights accomodation in La Rochelle if needed.

Luckily, the lovely Emma put us on a KLM flight to Amsterdam instead, at no extra cost, and we'll be arriving in Bordeaux an hour earlier than planned! Thank f*** for that! And thank f*** for Dutch pilots.

That is great news, aled ;-) The Dutch always deliver the goods - or is it the slag heaps in Lens ... Not sure anymore ;-)
