I know of at least 12 of us flying Birmingham to Biarritz. Not far by train then to Bordeaux.
Flying out I got the flight for £45.99 with Flybe. Only booked 1 way, but a couple of the boys have booked the return on the Sunday - not sure what they paid for that though.

The Youth Hostel is very central in Bordeaux (400m from main train station) and they still have doubles rooms (one bunk-bed). This is their email resa@bxaj.eu - her name is Anaïs (For your information:The price is 24€ per person per night, including breakfast (which is served from 7:30 am to 10:30 am) and bed-linen. Payment will be made upon arrival by bank card or cash.)
PS - they are on holiday through until Sunday 10 January - so be patient if no email reply!

This is sort of a long shot as I appreciate the distance to travel, but nobody has heard of any busses down to Bordeaux from S.Wales? I have a flight from London on the 8th but may have to travel down later in week due to work commitments.
Cheers

Planning to go Portsmouth Caen 8 June. Drive down to La Rochelle and stay there for the night then on to Bordeaux for 10 June and the fan zone. Head back up north on 12 June and tour Normandy D day beaches on the way to somewhere south of Lens. After England game head south for a couple of hours. Then head to Carcassonne for a couple of nights before going to Toulouse. The rest depends on what Wales do, and where it takes us.

I found a Ryan Air flight to Biaritz (200km away) out of Dublin on Friday 10 June at 10.25am for 80 Euro. Returning to Dublin on Monday afternoon 13th for 55 euro. If you can connect to the 10am flight - this is quite good value...

I know someone who has booked a cheap flight to Bergerac from the UK and then will take a train to Bordeaux, which does not take long. I suggest you look into this and then compare with what Fly Be will be quoting when they announce on the 14th

Got travel kind of sorted for england and russia game really struggling finding cheap travel and accommodation to Bordeaux spent hours getting know where would preferably like to go Thurs to the Sunday any tips or help would be much appreciated Have you tried airbnb for accommodation? I enquired with a lot of people on there and had many offering to accept our booking for the Friday and Saturday nights in Bordeaux. Chose one that was nice and central. It's cheap and if you don't mind the idea of staying in someone else's property you should find something on there! You can lodge in rooms or rent full apartments for a bit more privacy.

I have just noticed that Brittany ferry sailings on Thursday have been delayed due to industrial action. I'm on the 14.45, but it is now scheduled for 16.15, Portsmouth to Cherbourg also affected.

Just had an email from air France. Industrial action between June 11 and June 14. No exact details yet. We're supposed to be flying with them from Manchester on the 11th. They'll let us know a day before if our flights are affected. Nice of em.
