Ryan Air flights from Charleroi to Bordeaux on Sunday and Monday of the game itself are still only €23... There are three departures a day - all at this cheap rate... KO in Toulouse is 9pm! Most of the traffic is the other way (Belgium played Ireland on Saturday)...
For our North Wallians: You can connect with the evening flight from Manchester - still £20 on Sunday!!

FROM Aéroport BLAGNAC International Airport: Tram Line T2 - Airport station connects you to the metro/bus line services where you can use the same ticket (€1.60) as long as the last leg of the journey is within 60 minutes. Note that the official Airport Bus is an expensive €8 (although it also allows free transfers).

Yep. I am flying into Carcassone on the Saturday from Charleroi. Staying two nights at their gorgeous youth hostel. As Saturday afternoon is the Belgium v Ireland game in bordeaux - flights are still only 45€ on Ryan Air (checked today) from Charleroi Dept 11.30am arrive 1.10pm. Carcassonne Youth hostel still has doubles for €52 (or only €25 in 4-bed dorm). Arriving Toulouse Monday -probably early afternoon. Staying 4 nights in the Toulouse Hostel (the only one in France that wants payment upfront via BACS transfer...). Certainly up for the Neil Young gig - I am easy, Cat 1, 2 or 3 are all fine by me - so much easier when there is no photo-icon-captcha ... Will you do the honours of buying the tickets - or shall I?

Got my ticket weeks ago mate. I'm staying in Toulouse. How do you get from Carcassone airport to the train station? Looks like it could be walkable.

Must admit that last time I was there was with a car - Could be that the airport and train stations are near, though. Couldn't find them on the regular cheap airport buses: flixbus, ouibus and flibco. I guess its back to Google...Airport to old town Citadel is only 5.5km and airport shuttle bus is €5 (yes - it stops on route at the train station). Bus number 4 connects old town with train station for €1.20. If you walk out of airport, cross the road and continue along rue Jacques Vaucanson for about five minutes, then turn left into Henri Bouffet and walk for another approximate five minutes. Buses 1 and 3 stop at the roundabout, every day of the week apart from on Sundays, and the fare will cost €0.90... If your French is better than mine, try this - www.aude.fr/14-deplacements.htm

Carcassonne is so small, I can imagine it being taken over by our fans. Its a lovely place, mind. The youth hostel is smack bang in the heart of the old town

I just want to inform you guys that there is a very nice celtic music festival in the city center at this period. Link there www.rio-loco.org/programmation/prairie-des-filtres . Another good fact here in Toulouse is that you can join the Stadium from the city center on foot taking an enjoyable ramble along the local river "La Garonne".

Quick update on parking, we are staying in a campsite west of Toulouse and we're hoping to catch the train in and back after the game? It now looks as though the aren't going to be any extra late night trains ( local trams metro etc to be confirmed as I understand it) so the local tourist board has recommended that I use the the park and ride at Arenes, however I have read elsewhere it's not the best of areas. If I hear anything else I will post it.

manulike My pleasure Unfortunatly, the metro service closes at 00.05 am during the week while it's 3.00 am in the week end.. But the game should finish around 11.00 pm so if you leave fast, you'll be able to catch it. Where do you need to go after the game ?

Thanks, French Guy I am staying at the Auberge de jeunesse near Jolimont metro station (red metro line A) I think my problem is that I need first a tram or bus to Arenes. But it will be a similar problem for another 45,000 people ...

Hi French guy, Regarding the camping, I am looking at staying out towards Auch or Lisle Jordan. I know they are both on a train line, but it looks like the last train is early in the evening.
Thanks
