Got a decent looking hotel here from 15th-17th for not a bad price. Seems like a nice enough little town. Takes about 2 and half hours to Lens on the train. Catching the 7 am train and returning same day around 7:30 pm. We wanted to stay well enough away from Lens but with decent transport links for match day and this seems to have been ideal. Renting a car the next day then to drive down to Toulouse.

One tip on car hire, always take it back to where you hired it from otherwise you will be paying a lot extra

One tip on car hire, always take it back to where you hired it from otherwise you will be paying a lot extra Already booked with Avis. £66 additional charge for one way. Not great but I've seen much worse quotes for one way! Total hire was £213 for 4 days, including one way fee and an additional driver. I did originally look at hiring from Brussels and dropping off in toulouse but that was outrageous. Because of crossing the border I'm guessing. |
