Any Barclaycard Mastercard users had an e-mail today informing customer they are migrating to a new Visa Platinum Card?
I've just had a 45min conversation with first the Help Centre in India and then the Customer Services/Complaints team in the UK.
The switch is being made in mid March with the old card being cancelled 30 days after the new one is sent out. It potentially affects us in two ways:
1. May not be able purchase tickets in the March/April portal. 2. Will affect possible refunds after the Euros.
Get onto them and make sure they know where you are coming from!!!!

It is my experience that even when your card is changed your account number stays the same and the refund goes to your new card. This happened to me when I bought FYT tickets for Euro 2004.

In this case, and it's confirmed in the e-mail, the account number is changing. Edit: I'm awaiting a call back from one of the UK mangers, I'll update accordingly!

I had a letter the other day about this so I called them and explained that I will most probably getting some form of refund in June / July (I have paid for two tickets right up to the final). They informed me that any refund that would have been paid to my old card will be automatically transferred to my new card. well that's what the guy said so I believe him. With a bit of luck I won't see a penny of it back which means I'll be in Paris watching us in the final.

I suppose the one bit of good news is the continued weakening of the pound which means we may get a better exchange rate on our refund when we get eliminated.

I cancelled a Free Cancellation hotel in France last week that had also taken money from my account by mistake.......made £2.05 on the deal. Happy days!!!!

Least of our problems. The BBC are carrying a report tonight suggesting that an increase in the terror threat will see the games played behind closed doors !
