Just heard on Radio Wales that the FAW is getting £8 million just for qualifying. During group stage, a further £800,000 for each win and only £400,000 for a draw...
£1.5m for R16 £2.5 for QF £4 for reaching the semis £5 if runners up £8.5 when we win it!
By my calculations we should be 27 million richer by 10 July
That's just enough money to be able to re-surface the pitch at CC stadium for the Moldova game ;-)

I have heard elsewhere that FAW aren't expecting to make a profit unless we reach the QF.

I have heard elsewhere that FAW aren't expecting to make a profit unless we reach the QF. Yeah I heard this as well The stats quoted by Radio Wales are from the official UEFA prize money list. Presumably the FAW are using the guaranteed prize money from qualifying and any winnings from the group stages to fund logistics for the Euros - hotels, transport, security, staffing, etc. If we win matches during the group stages and get through the second round too, that's the point at which the FAW start making a profit.

I'm sure qualifying has boosted their profits anyway though. Ticket sales, shirt sales, merchandise. And I'm sure they will sell more memberships next time around, I would hope so anyway. I was hoping they would use a big chunk of cash to invest into 3/4G pitches across Wales as the amount of games that are missed at grassroots level through bad weather is ridiculous. Something needs to be done if we're to keep qualifying for these tournaments.

I have heard elsewhere that FAW aren't expecting to make a profit unless we reach the QF. Chris Coleman himself stated at a QandA in Pwllheli a couple of weeks ago that the FAW will just break even unless we progress to the quarter finals. Could explain the breakdown in talks surrounding his new contract.....
