Can any understand the Euro 2016 fixtures for the last 16?
I find it very misleading as to who we will play if we finish to go through.

We're going to play Germany in Lille. It's nailed on. Oh, and Spain or Belgium in the QF.

Yes, think it's 90% Lille. Not sure how it's worked out though

If we win our group, there's only a 1 in 15 chance we play 3rd in NI's group!

Just mentioning it in case folk are planning travel around these times

May seem trivial, but actually quite important once you get to the level of micro-planning. For instance, IF we play in Lille and IF it went to extra time and penalties, I'll miss my last train back to Dunkirk!

Gives a bit more freedom and can fill the boot with wine on the way back!

Was going to drive to Dunkirk and get the train in and out of Lille (hotel prices in Lille are crazy). However train times look difficult, so may just drive all the way. Just can't celebrate with a nice glass of red when we knock the Germans out.

The 3rd place thing (Brests aside)... is that if the best 4 of 6 3rd place finishers are from groups ABCD then (and only then) do we play in Lens. Otherwise, if we finish 3rd it's Lille... Personally, I'd much prefer to play Spain (in Lens) than Germany...

Anyone started to look at booking (refundable) travel and accommodation should we make it to the last 16?
If the game in Lens is a 21:00 kick-off and the game in Lille is on a Sunday 18:00, it is going to be a right pain to get into and out of for those games.

I'll walk there.
On my hands.
In the nude.
From woolworths window.

Pretty sure we can manage 2nd spot with a win loss draw. Got a no deposit required hotel with free cancellation booked but no flights yet.

I've got all my eggs in a Nice basket as well... But if playing in Lens means avoiding a match v Germany - I am happy to spend the night in downtown Lens celebrating our reaching the quarters!

Nice...thinking ahead.
I just booked 2 different hotels with a one day option and two day options (total of 4 bookings) to maximise my chances with flights out to Nice. I plan to use an organised bus trip if we are playing in Paris or Lille but I've also booked a night about 2miles from Parc De Prince just in case. All rooms all come with a cancellation without charge
Ive looked into booking in Lille too for the night but they are silly money.
Best site I've found with free cancellation hotels is Booking.com

I'm ok for a hotel room in Nice. Travel is a worry though. When I first started looking a few weeks ago return flights London - Nice (out Monday, back Tuesday) were around £100. Now up to £140. Hate to think what price they'll be by the time there's any certainty over the fixture. Can't bring myself to take a £280 punt though (me and son). That would be silly......wouldn't it? Lille is way less of a headache.
