Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere but with Danny Ward making his Premier League debut for Liverpool last weekend,it's great news for Wales and let's hope he pushes on and gets regular gametime in the coming weeks. It also got me thinking about the high number of goalies from North Wales: Hennessey,Fon Williams and Ward in the current setup and in the past,Paul Jones,Danny Coyne,Tony Roberts,Big Nev of course and a few others I'm sure! So why is this, and why a low return on Welsh international goalies from the South in recent years? Is it a strange coincidence,or are the gogs simply better between the posts?

This was brought up a long time ago if my memory serves me right. My opinion on the subject was always that if you're from the south, taller than average, prefer to use your hands over your feet then theres another sport you end up playing.

Anyone in south Wales who can catch gets force fed egg. Doesn't explain Swansea/Ammanford born Dai Davies, Gary Sprake and Jack Kelsey's caps. Llanelli born Glan Letheran was Davies and Sprake's understudy for years too

There have been southerners between the sticks, Kelsey probably the best of them, but graham vearncombe, Andy dibble and even roger 'firty free' -stone have won a handful of caps too .... It does seem that more gogs have excelled as no. 1 though ( Jack Kelsey a notable exception)

Llanelli born Glan Letheran was Davies and Sprake's understudy for years too Maybe it does explain it? Dai Davies last played for Wales mid 80s. Per head of capita that doesnt add up?
