Anyone else doing the group games by train,I reckon i'm doing over 3,000 miles in 11 days leaving from barry on the day before the slovakia game.
I work as a train driver and I reckon it takes me about 3 weeks in work to about that many miles.

Nowhere near as many miles as you, but i do have about twenty SNCF tickets (about 4 or 5 are throw-away options). Chiefly doing the Bordeaux to Paris TGV ride (4 return trips). I only hope that I will need to buy another Paris to Bordeaux ... If I also get a ROI v Belgium ticket...
Enjoy it!

Is that the very definition of a "busmans holiday" I'm normally sober in work,on this trip that's highly unlikely. It's not as bad as it sounds though, a lot of it is by TGV, paris to bordeaux in only 3 hours is pretty impressive. Not looking forward to the journey home, 09.00 from toulouse the morning after the russia game is going to hurt, knowing that i've got to come back again for the last 16 game,I really hope that's going to be up north.

I'm getting the train from Cardiff all the way to Bordeaux on Friday 10th. Leaving Cardiff at 07:55 and getting into Bordeaux at 20:30 that evening. Doing the reverse from Toulouse after the Russia game. Just need to make sure I make the connection between Gare du Nord and Montparnasse in Paris in a timely manner!

6.18am train out of St Pancras on the morning of the Slovakia game. Doing all the travel around France by train although I'm flying back from Toulouse after the Russian game. Worked out very reasonable - all the travel for less than £ 230.

What is the cheapest way to book train tickets in France? I am looking to book return tickets from Bordeaux to Paris going up on the Wednesday before the England game and returning south on the Friday. Any tips will be much appreciated as I can only find tickets for about £100 each, which I find to be very expensive.

Anyone else getting the 11:26 Eurostar out on the day of the England game? Would be good to have some Welsh company as I anticipate being a bit outnumbered. Current strategy is head down, pretend I don't know there's a football tournament on and pick my Wales shirt up from my mate at the ground...

With the hour difference you wont be in Lille till around 2pm. I have no idea how long it takes to get from Lille to Lens but security at the ground could take an hour in itself.

Hang on, scratch that. ARRIVING 11:26, depart London 8:55! (I had to double check...)

Anyone know if you need a passport or ID for internal journeys on the trains. Making a couple of return journeys from Bordeaux to Toulouse and don't really want to take my passport as there would be a fair chance of losing it! I had to use passport numbers for booking the trains.

On a lot of "pay on the train" in Europe you get a senior persons half price ticket.
