i have a family friend on holiday caravaning in France at the moment and they are having a nightmare due to the big shortage of petrol in France due to some industrial action by refinery workers.
At the moment you can only buy €20 of petrol in any garage. This is widespread, got to hope it will be over by a couple of weeks.

I'm driving from northern France down so will need to fill a tank before leaving Pompey.
Will need to fill up again then to make sure I have enough fuel to get to Toulouse (flying to Lille for the game in Lens)

I am driving all the way from Calais to Toulouse in a big old XC90, so I need a few pit stops! The French have a longstanding reputation for strikes and industrial action especially at key times, if it's not sorted soon we'll be on e bay looking for jerrycans! If your up north you may be able to nip in to Belgium to top up.

Glad I chose to fly and use the train system.Airlines are warning of possible “summer of discontent” due to an unprecedented wave of air traffic control strikes in France. France set to grind to a halt as strikes spark fuel shortages and air and rail blockages The CGT and other trade unions called for strikes all over France in the coming days and weeks in protest of the labour reforms and other grievances around their working conditions and salaries. And with the Euro 2016 football tournament to be hosted in France in just a few weeks, things aren't looking promising.
All together now "always look on the bright side of life"

Doing the whole thing by hire car. At least we will start with a full tank from Limoges. Should get us to Bordeaux if I can control my heavy right foot

Really hope they get this sorted. Will be extremely embarrassing for the French authorities if we can't get fuel to get round the Euros!

Oh there will be compromise before the Euro's as striking to destroy the Euro's will win no friends and bring shame on France. Also if they force big concessions from Govt just before Euro's there will be big payback after them from Govt.
Its the French way of doing things, won't work elsewhere.

This is very worrying, my bike has max range of 150 miles and thats pushing it so its probably 2 stops to Bordeaux. In reality this means stopping every 100 miles to make sure and i may try to carry a 5 litres can, not easy on a heavily laden bike!! So if you see me stranded at the side 9f the road waving a fuel can please give me a lift you big tanked car w%€£!?÷s?

All together now "always look on the bright side of life" Don't be too sure flights don't get affected, the french are great at strikes and know how to do a proper job.....unfortunately. the hope is that the french government intervene before complete chaos. Such a prestigious event being affected so badly is not the story they want after all the terrorist stuff. Lets fookin hope
