If, like me, you prefer to carry your baggage on your back and need to walk a fair distance with it - but still prefer to keep its size below the cheap flight carrier's allowed carry-on baggage: Easy Jet: 56 x 45 x 25cm Ryan Air: 56 x 40 x 20cm Vueling Air: 55 x 40 x 20cm Wizz Air: 56 x 45 x 25cm paid-for allowance for "Large" item. Free allowance is 42 x 32 x 25cm (free) The one with the most capacity that I have been using for the last two years is this eBay one. It is UNCOMFORTABLE for long periods of carrying, as it has no frame, no ventilation and is generally clumsy. But if all you need is maximum capacity 45 litre and a cheap price £25 - this is for you! Called CABIN MAX
I just bought a new, much more professional rucksack. With a solid frame, with ventilation and with side pockets from Millets / Blacks. Sold for £24 and they offer 10% student discounts. The brand is called VANGO TRAIL 35 LITRE. Don't confuse it with Vango Transit 40 litre - which is too big and has no ventilation. I know that Millets do a click and Collect service even from JD Sports for £1. I can really imagine this being comfortable for 30-40 minute hikes and the stitching on it looks much more solid as well. Sadly, the material is quite cheap nylon and the waist / chest straps are probably not all that useful - but for a 4-week trip, in Europe, i think this will do nicely! Attachments:

I am trying to avoid all the Fan Zones ... as I have tickets to 12 games as it is ... Football overload! Hope to get a ticket for match 22 as well ... or ... maybe the Fan Zone for that one!

I've got one of the Cabin Zero bags and used it for various trips across Europe over the past few years. It's great as the bag itself barley weighs anything and hasn't had any issues yet with budget airlines www.amazon.co.uk/Cabin-Zero-The/dp/B00HNS1FWE

It is perfect size and absolutely never questioned by airlines - as they are all familiar with it. Sadly, it is really not all that comfortable to carry as a rucksack for longer than 10-15 minutes or so... I will be hopping around 12 stadiums almost on a daily basis - hence my current need to upgrade to a proper rucksack (while losing 10 litre capacity) PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT CABIN MAX IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE ON EBAY FOR £25 - and often even there for £20... So the Amazon link for £40 is perhaps not the best place to look.
