I am now going to the ROI v Belgium game, and although it is a 3pm ko - there are no buses/trains to my hostel in Carcassonne after 5pm...
Is anyone traveling from Lille/Paris to Bordeaux with a spare seat on Friday/Saturday?
Is anyone traveling to Carcassonne that evening, after game?
Or perhaps up to La Rochelle or Poitiers?
Does anyone have a spare bed where I can crash for the night?
This was the only game which I have practically given up on, and made no arrangements at all for ...

Anyone know if either La Rochelle or Poitiers are nice / worth 2-days stay? I hope so, me and a mate are staying a day and a half (Fri 17th to Sat 18th) in La Rochelle! The place was recommended to me by a French friend. As I understand it, it is different to other parts of France as it on the Atlantic coast. It also has a nice Old Town and Port area.

Poitiers is really nice. Town centre 10 min walk from station. Lovely main square with bars, etc. Proper France. Hotels also plentiful and reasonable.

Yes, will be at La Rochelle on Sat 18th day and night. Arrive there on the Friday afternoon on a flight from Charleroi and leave on Sunday morning with a train to Bordeaux (and then another train ride onto Toulouse on the Monday)

So how are you getting back from Bordeaux to La Rochelle after the game? Or are you not going to the game / Fan Zone?

So how are you getting back from Bordeaux to La Rochelle after the game? Or are you not going to the game / Fan Zone? I won't be in La Rochelle until after the England game as I arrive on Fri 17th June.
I'm flying into Bordeaux on the day of the game from BHX and then flying out the next day. Then flying into Brussels for the Engerlund game. The day after the England game, I'm flying to La Rochelle.

Lots of Irish fans and buses travelling from and back to La Rochelle. Have asked the question so expect someone will get back to me by tomorrow regarding it.

I'll probably be driving from Lille down to La Rochelle on Friday afternoon/evening. I'm on my own in a camper car, so have 1 free seat for the drive (if you can put up with my taste in music..!). I'll be camping around Bordeaux on the Saturday, before heading to Toulouse, so can't help you with getting back to La Rochelle afterwards.

Many thanks for your kind offer, robertssports I finally gave in and booked a train on the Friday evening to Angoulême - which is only 1-hour out of Bordeaux. And booked IBIS in Angoulême for €100 for 2 nights. Last train back from Bordeaux to Angoulême is at 9.10pm - whereby La Rochelle and Poitiers were really difficult to get back to after 6pm... and they were 3-hour rides ... If anyone fancies sharing that IBIS room in Angoulême on Friday/Saturday 17 and 18 June let me know. I booked a 3-bed. I am happy to use upper bunk, if there are 2 of you!
