Highly unlikely they'll be matching up passports with names on tickets but they'll still want to put a face to the passport holder. Security going up a level. Don't leave home without it.

They won't be able to do an ID to ticket name check because if you bought more than one ticket - as allowed under FIFA rules - the name on the ticket is of the 'lead applicant' only.
Where does in say that they'll be checking passports before entering the stadium? Some of those attending the matches might not have passports (French supporters for example).

That's just for ID though. Plenty of people will have tickets legitimately in the name of someone else. Collecting the conditional tickets for the knockout stages will be a lot more of an issue though.

There is nothing in my booking T&C I need to produce photographic ID from what I can see. I am not going to carry my passport around when pissed up & get stranded!

9. Entrance to the Stadium 9.1. Access to the Stadium will be permitted during such hours as specified on the Ticket or as published on the UEFA EURO 2016™ website. 9.2. Entrance to the Stadium shall be: a. subject to compliance with the Regulations and the relevant Stadium Rules ; b. authorised upon presentation of a valid Ticket per person (regardless of age) and, upon request, proof of identity with valid photograph and signature (passport or national identity card). Ticket Holders leaving the Stadium will not be re-admitted.
It looks like they've covered themselves with the " upon request" T&C are in French on the back of your ticket
