Traffic was a nightmare We got on a tram as soon as we could. Bus 1 and about 5 stops (lycees de merignac) to tram A and stayed on tram A all the way to porte de bourgone where we swapped to tram C. Took about 90mins from airport to our ibis hotel which is one stop before the stadium. Taxi cost looks like its €40! I know some are arriving on gameday.

I'm staying a few 100m from the train station so will just get the airport shuttle. Only does a couple of stops do should be pretty quick in theory.
Obviously on the day of the game things will be different so definitely will give myself a couple of hrs before ko to make it to the stadium.

Arriving about 10 on Saturday morning. We will probably get taxi to hotel if traffic is bad. €40 euro between 3 isn't too bad if it means gaining an extra hour of time in Bordeaux.

I don't arrive until 15.40 on Saturday afternoon but its at least at the train station in town not far from my apartment. If there's a hiccup with the trains I'll miss the game. I'll be a bag of nerves until I'm sat in the ground.

Hopefully, by the time we arrive at the airport the stadium will be full and there will be little traffic about.

Is that on a bus through town? I'm hoping in a taxi on the A630 is a lot better.

For those not in a rush the public bus no. 1 is only 1.50 euro but does go the scenic route!

Hmmm so much for an easy journey then! Anyone flying in from Birmingham on Friday at 15.00 want to share a cab to the centre? I'm on that flight. I need to get to the train station as I'm staying on a campsite 40 mins train ride West of Bordeaux. I'll probably get the Shuttle to the station. If the traffic is bad I can't see a taxi being much quicker tbh. Fingers crossed for a straightforward journey!

Slightly off topic, but does anybody know if there are any bars / pubs / drinking establishments close to the stadium? Or is it better to get your fill in the centre prior to catching the tram / walking?

Ibis has a bar and i guess other hotels will but there is sweet fa by the stadium from my recon look yesterday. Hotels are about 300m from stadium

Public transport, including airport bus 1 and Tram C to the stadium are on strike today and tomorrow. Down to 1 out of 3 services. The locals don't pay on strike days... but be sure to allow at least TWO hours from airport to Station and TWO hours from station to stadium. If flying into Bordeaux Saturday after 2pm, you really should take a taxi!

It's around 4 miles from the centre to the stadium
Might be worth a gentle stroll ;-)

Taxi from airport to near the stadium should be no more than 20-30 minutes on the A road. (I hope..)

If you do decide to take Tram C, it now terminates 4 stops before the Stadium terminus. From there, take BUS NUMBER 25 to stadium - use same ticket, or do 'a local' and don't pay on strike days...

I was on a number 1 bus earlier so how are they on strike today?
How are people getting to the ground tomorrow from the station?
Seems UEFA are desperate for us to use public transport. 50 minutes on tram C which will be packed.

Buses and trams are only running 1 in 3 scheduled departures. Tram line C hasn't gone to stadium all day today. It took me 2 full hour's getting there and getting back I had to walk the remaining 4km from Fan Zone to station, as there were no trams at all for 40-45 minutes...

Judging on how busy the public transport is today I think it'll be even worse tomorrow.
Thinking of just getting a taxi from the station. Either that or try get a taxi after the game.
