Buses and trams are only running 1 in 3 scheduled departures. Tram line C hasn't gone to stadium all day today. It took me 2 full hour's getting there and getting back I had to walk the remaining 4km from Fan Zone to station, as there were no trams at all for 40-45 minutes... Does that include airport shuttle direct to/from train station or just local public transport?

Me and my old man get into Bordeaux airport at half 1 tomorrow. After reading this I presume its best we get a taxi straight to the stadium? how far is it from airport>fanzone>stadium?

Anyone on the 6:50am flight from Gatwick tomorrow? And/or staying in Le Haillan? Looks like the tram into town is going to be out because of the strike.

My youth hostel is 5 mins from station. Plan on having early lunch and setting off by 1.30 to 2pm at latest. There are drinking venues and food stalls outside stadium as well!
I am not entirely sure about the €7 airport shuttle bus. It does include the new bus line 1 for €1.50. I can't imagine the taxi from the airport to stadium taking much longer than an hour - even in heavy traffic. Should be about 30-40 minutes normally. Get 5 welshmen to split the 30 euro fare! Even on Thursday there were a good 200-250 Welsh folk landed same time as me... and 2 Slovaks...

Good shout on splitting the taxi fare. The airport shuttle was running as normal today. But the promised 30 minutes turned into an hour and 40 minutes. For those arriving tomorrow I hope that the worst has past otherwise the taxis might get very lucky.

I wasted another 45 minutes waiting for a tram last night after dinner. Ended up walking back again... BE WARNED...

Still unsure how to get there today, hope it's all sorted and no problems.
I'll feel alright once I'm at the ground

Lady at hostel looked at official Bordeaux Transport website and its official: only 30% public services today + the main bridge leading to stadium is closed to all traffic, for security reasons... allow as much time as possible!

One of the locals just told me that the trams often stop at 8pm when the strikes are on. Surely they can't today??

I just hope it all runs smoothly. Surely it would have just made sense to have buses running from the airport, the station, the city centre and the fanzone to the stadium.

There is an official shuttle from 2 or 3 stops before end of line B (called Le Cite du Vin) to stadium. At 2pm there were only two of us on it. Was at stadium at 2.20pm. Gates only ed at 3.30pm, so I collected my tickets for next week's ROI v Belgium. At th moment, there appear to be MORE Spanish fans here at stadium, than Slovaks. And Spain is only playing on Monday...

I saw lots holding up tickets for sale. There was no checks or random stopping until you decide to enter the stadium. Trams was a proper squeeze... And full trams go slower! You can buy beer once in the stadium.
