Bit of information about Toulouse for those heading down here after Lens game.
Getting from the airport into town is easy. The new tramway is the obvious one, otherwise a taxi shouldn't cost much more than €20.00 - if they're not on strike!!
Unlike Bordeaux, the stadium is no more than 20 mins walk from the city centre and easy to get to and is on an island in the middle of the Garonne. For those in a car, you are best of parking short term in one of the car parks in the city centre or otherwise Cours Dillion is the only free car park centrally in Toulouse.

The roads leading from the ring road up to the ground near the casino are also good for parking, just pull onto the kerb anywhere. Avoid parking though in the large estate opposite - Empalot.
The park area just next to the car park & river (and 10 mins from the stadium) is host to Rio Loco starting next Friday and finishing on Sunday night. If you get there on the Saturday, the Super Furry's are playing the late show on the main stage at 11pm. I'd imagine that they'll be doing a few crowd pleasers too! Tickets cost about €8.50 for the full day - see here - park.themisweb.fr/0431/fSessionsList.aspx?idstructure=0431&EventId=22
Best pubs in town are Trevor Brennan's (ex Ireland international) www.dedanu.com/en - although it is not quite in the centre of the town. Others include Frog & Rosbif www.frogpubs.com/pub-frog-rosbif-toulouse-toulouse-6.php & the Melting Pot. Others include The London Town
, quite close to the ground at 14 Rue des Prêtres
, La Tireuse www.toulouscope.fr/bar/pub/la-tireuse.html and down on Quay Daurade, there's Bar Basque and the obligatory messy Pastis bar!
Give us a shout if you need any other info.
