For me, probably Dirk Kuyt. Van Persie, Torres, Fabregas all half fit. The entire England squad completely rubbish. Ballack and Essien didn't even make the plane. I hope more of our players go elsewhere to play in the next few years- we would have been without Ramsey, Collison and Allen even if we had qualified this time. Best league in the world, my arse

Mascherano? Tevez? To be fair Fabregas looked very good wen he came on yesterday - but hasn't played because Spain have 1 or 2 decent midfielders....

If the best players from La Liga had been half-fit or in the England squad, it would have had a poor World Cup too.
Best barometer of league strength is European club competitions. The Premiership has done pretty well in those in recent years (although this season proved that there are still other leagues around that are just as good, and burst the bubble on the whole 'Premiership best league in the world' myth.)
