The stadium is on the outskirts in a residential area. Didn't see anything apart from a McDonalds and a kebab shop. The metro ride from the train station is probably a min of 25 minutes and then there is probably another 10 minute walk to the stadium. Heed the FSF advice and leave at the last minute!

Nothing by the ground, and took around 45 minutes from the centre of Lyon to the stadium

It seemed a long way more than the 12km it was supposed to be

Lyon was a good advert for city centre stadia. Speaking to a couple of Olympic fans and they don't go anymore since the move from the old stadium.

Lyon was a good advert for city centre stadia. Speaking to a couple of Olympic fans and they don't go anymore since the move from the old stadium. Absolute shambles getting away from there on Wednesday. We stood in a queue for 45 mins to get onto a tram, and it took the best part of an hour to get us back into the centre, including the tram standing motionless half way there for a good 20 mins, in the heat, most people standing, and no word of explanation. Really took the shine off what was otherwise a great evening (result excepted of course). Generally, the ordinary French people we've met on this trip have been nothing less than fantastic and we loved the city of Lyon. However, the organisation and levels of information at all matches we went to (Wales and non-Wales) were poor, with Lyon being by some way the worst. Don't think the French can look back on how they handled this tournament with any pride.

Forgive me for standing up for Bordeaux on this one. Attended 3 games there, and even despite the Industrial Action on our game-day, the tram service in Bordeaux was a total breeze. On the other two match days, the tram went all the way to the stadium and was no longer than a 30 minutes ride.
I have been to 9 of the 10 stadia in these Euros (exception being St Etienne) and Lyon by far and away was the worst connected. Total chaos and practically no one to ask...
I have nothing to compare France to, but hopefully, we will be attending these tournaments more frequently now :-)

the organisation was poor in the four cities i went to. Actually thats a lie, at least in Toulouse there was goo signage to get to the ground.
The positioning of the VEP in Lyon was stupid. There was no need for it to be at a football ground they could have hired somewhere in the centre for this surely.
There were no directions at the tram station in lyon of where the fanzone was. At none of the venues were there (the odd one maybe) volunteers guiding you to places of interest (fanzone, ground, centre etc).
When the cricket is on, the ashes in Cardiff. You were overrun with volunteers and signage to the ground. Now i know that is slightly different as its a fairly central venue but the organisation in France to be honest was very poor.
Overall it was a great experience but it really could have been better if it was organised better.

Lens I didn't hang around so can't comment. Lille was probably about the best but again why they can't put portacabins in the square by the fan embassy was beyond me. And lyon was an absolute Joke!

Sums up my thoughts as well. I thought Lille was pretty bad as well. The steward in front of me randomly stopped our lane whilst every other was going through. People behind me were getting crushed so I pushed him out of the way.

its not beyond the wit of man to have simple things like 'fanzone here' at the tube and bus stops. Then a few signposts to get you there.
In Lille there were no signposts to the VEP which was only about 5 minutes from the main station i got off. I even did my research and struggled to find it. No signposts anywhere.
The Voucher exchange point at least there was fairly central. In Lyon they could have housed the VEP in a foyer of a hotel near the centre or a function room near the centre. It was a put up tent at the old football ground the opposite direction of the actual ground the game was on at.
The Lyon ground location is terrible as well. So far out of town with no facilities around it. I genuinely think that had an adverse effect on our support.

To be fair, I actually found organisation to be pretty decent. Bordeaux we were on a tram within 5 minutes of getting to the stop - and back in our car on the motorway within 30 minutes of full time, Lens the park and ride bus had us back in our car again within 30 minutes and it was a similar story in Toulouse.
Got organised travel for the knockout games but Paris looked like it would have been easy enough to get away from so all in I was pleasantly surprised.

Paris SdeF used RER on 2 occasions and was good when found the station on way back but 2nd needed to get a Taxi from Gare de Lyon as trains finished.
Bordeaux............... followed advice on here (Thanks) and parked in Exhibition centre close to stadium and a walk in, getting out just as easy and home in Sarlat just after 7pm following a 3pm game. Thanks Manulike for tickets.
Lens................... 2 games, a joy as P&R was efficient, lots of cops looking after cars, buses worked quickly, quick walk to stadium and afterwards quickly back to car.
Lille............... lost car, was after Italy game and with wife and kids and couldn't care less as was on a high, looking at wrong Metro station but found it and left no later than mate who had parked in Multi storey car park at ground.
Lyon............... pig of a car park at Expo, least fav ground and incompetence at getting crowd in and out.
SdeF again where parked should have got me on Motorway quickly but route blocked but got out quickly via side roads and in Calais at 10.15pm after a 6pm game...............observed speed limit all the way, just need to find the country where speed limit belongs to.
Like Lens the most as it worked (Twice) very well. Guys checking people before getting on bus at P&R following my gestures insisted a pat down search on my lad (both times) and let me walk through. They remembered us from 1st time, said it after to us and my lad couldn't believe I got him twice.
Likely will go and see some games at Lille during next season as easy in and out.
