Big surprise, I'm the artist formerly known as.......saints19.
Why didn't you keep your old names lads? Makes it much easier to identify you.

Im less of the political firebrand these days so a change of name was in order to distance myself from my (quite aggressive) old posting identity! The Croatia game was a watershed moment- I have all but given up after that shambles. I am now comfortable with the fact that we will never qualify for anything in my lifetime so do not get worked up about welsh football. Apathy rules now! ;D

What did you expect in Croatia RD? (you'll always be RD to me!) It wasn't a shambles at all. It was simply a deserved away defeat to to a team ranked 10 in the world at the time (one for the rankers)
We had a St Mirren player, a Doncaster player and a Peterborough player in our line up. Of course we were going to lose! I was just hoping it wouldn't be embarrassing, and it wasn't. A few days before our game I watched most of Croatias away game against Austria on TV. They only won it 1-0, but that was possibly the most one sided 1-0 you could ever see- the Austrain keeper pulled off about 7 or 8 absolutely blinding saves. The Croatians were so much better technically it was embarrassing to watch. I really feared for us going there. Under the circumstances, we did OK.
But if you've given up on Welsh footie, that's fine- more room on the beach in Brazil for the rest of us!

As for Croatia- I am fed up not because of the performance but because of the pathetic way international football is treated by our players. Total respect to the ones who went. They should be in line to start the new campaign. The rest are total wasters, no pride, no passion, no nothing. It was a clear signal that we have big problems, not only in a lack of quality players but a lack of interest in general. Worrying times.

We actually had more players pull out for the USA game in 2003, and we were unbeaten and top of the group at the time! It's disappointing, but unfortunately nothing new. I blame Giggs- there's NO WAY he should even be considered as our next manager given his pathetic attitude to representing his country as a player. (did you get that Bananaman?)

hey RD and daweminator - welcome back both of you. how did you find us? stormy - will you now be returning to watch games then?? Nice to see you Trendy! It was a bit of a fluke- my company's DNS server had a problem resolving dragonsoccer.co.uk so I tried googling it and going in that way. After googling it I noticed in the list of results a post on a wrexham forum telling everyone about this place. Im surprised that its been going as long as it has and Ive only just found it! I spent a week or so after the closing of the DS forum looking for welsh football messageboards but there was nothing- so I wouldnt be surprised if other ex-members gave up looking like I did and arent aware of this place

Oh, and to answer the question about games- I am going to do my best to get to at least one (hopefully as early as Bulgaria at home) as brassed off with the tactics as I am. Although in hindsight defensive football seems to be what everyone is doing at the moment so maybe I should temporarily cut Tosh some slack....still adamant that Im going to avoid the England game though! ;D

i think i set this up a couple of weeks after the end of DS. i've been posting on the bbc 606 and waleonline sites trying to get everyone, and new people, on board.
people still missing: majid, idiot, phillipe le trousers, and probably a couple more. and, of course, the apostle.

You may want to look into meta tags or whatever so this forum is in the thick of it for searches for welsh football messageboards. I think the title of "apostlewelshfootie" makes it difficult to find. I suppose we could always phone the Spurs ticket office and see if they have heard anything from Apostle lately...

I have mailed Idiot and Big Nev Gloves about the site today.
Hopefully they will join with a few others from the old BBC site shortly
