These 2 Wales Under 17's are having promising seasons. Midfielder Leo Smith has played the last 2 games at Wrexham and is now under a management team prepared to give youth a go. he has not looked out of place. Good touch, good awareness and his first thought is always to look for the forward ball.
Left back Jordan Davies is on loan at Bangor getting race reviews.he played pre season at wrexham and "looks a player". Premier League Scouts rumoured to be watching him at Bangor.

This from yesterday's Daily Post re Leo
Leo Smith A little shaky at times, and gave the ball away on a number of occasions, but did enough to show he is one for the future with a huge amount of potential. Didn’t look overawed on his first start either. 7
Leo is Gethin Jones[Everton] cousin.. Two Porthmadog boys

Nothing like playing senior football to develop a young player.
With Wrexham likey to remain mid table I see no reason why they wouldn't play their youngsters for the rest of the season

I'm sure Leo Smith played for Wales u19 against Czech Republic at Cardiff Met in a friendly. I watched that one and he was one of our better players.

Who was the Wrexham lad that Gary Mills likened last season to Gareth Bale?

Who was the Wrexham lad that Gary Mills likened last season to Gareth Bale? Jonny Smith, but Gary Mills also thought a 0-0 draw at home to Eastleigh was 'excellent'.

I am reliably informed that 2 Championship clubs are bidding to sign young Jordan Davies in January.

Plonker Yes, but to be fair, based on pre season friendlies he hasn't the physicality to play conference football yet. I'm sure he will be in an under 23 squad when he moves clubs while he fills out a bit

Between him and Ben Woodburn we have the left flank sorted. I hope Chris Gunter has started practicing yoga, cus we will still be needing him for the 2024 Euros ;-)

Jordan Davies has gone to Brighton today. Very disappointed to see him join the likes of Danny Ward in leaving Wrexham without ever playing a game for us and feel it is another case of us selling too soon for too little but best of luck to Jordan, hope he pushes through to the first team and gives us another option on the left.

Disappointed that Swansea didn't come in for him. The U23s are 10 points clear at the top of their division, with roughly 50% Welsh players, but the Under 18s are bottom of theirs, with a clear majority of Welsh players.
The rules around academies mean that the likes of Brighton can hoover up talent from academies further down the hierarchy for pretty much nothing, and at very short notice. I'm afraid that Wrexham won't get much for Davies, but I hope I'm wrong.

Jord's bagged a hat trick tonight, far too good for this level. Here's his third:

He's had a cracking 2nd half to the season, no doubt been our best player in that time. Looks a different class at this level, happy that he's signed up for next season. Hope with our millions we can tie him down to a longer deal!
