Decent cameo from GT against Mexico. Tenacious, not short of skill and willing to track back and help out his team mates. The Anglo Aguero? Time will tell.
Congratulations on your debut.

Lack of better offers? Was Hoping he would be playing championship football this season.
Will need to tear it up to progress next year.

Since his ROI debut, I see George played 3 X 90 minutes in last three matches for Scunthorpe, as well as 18 minute in the 4th.
Got the equaliser today in their 3-3 home draw.
Must be on the cards for another call up?

His move to leicester looks like a very bad one in retrospect. He was earning rave reviews with coventry in league 1 two seasons ago - scoring around 1 in 3. Now he's back in league 1 and not doing nearly as well, only scoring once in his 11 appearances.

Something that the likes of Connor Roberts should bear in mind by staying with Swansea for this season and next. I'm optimistic that he's grounded enough to make the decision that progresses his career the best. Incidentally Swansea were after Thomas - had he moved to Swansea he'd have had regular game time this season at Championship level in all probability, given Swansea's lack of striking options. Not that he would have known at the time to be fair.

Not that he would have known at the time to be fair. This is the thing, it's easy to make decisions in retrospect. Look at Dai Brooks, the move has done wonders for him. No need to panic regarding Thomas. Giggs clearly rates him, and if he is good enough he will kick on eventually.

Thought that he had a decent game v TnT. Loads of running, that would have been rewarded better had he got the right balls.
I see its his birthday on Sunday. Last year in China, our birthday boy Harry got himself a goal and Bale got a hattrick ;-) Perhaps its an omen?

Ie thought he did well Manlike especially considering T&T were a experienced side who knew how to shut down options for the whole team.

Unlucky not to have his goal awarded. Makes the 23 for me Sunday.

Has anyone heard about George this window? Was expecting him to be loaned out. With Matondo and Roberts being injured, we are very short on options upfront for September ...

It will probably be James-Bale-Wilson again. We'll also have T.Lawrence available as it stands. With Ramsey in there it should be plenty against Azerbaijan.

Lets be honest if we need George Thomas at the moment we are fecked.
We have Vokes and maybe Moore who can play as a number 9.
Wilson James Bale Ramsey you then have Woodburn and possibly Johnny Williams all better options than Thomas

Any updates on Thomas? Not heard much about him recently? I presume he is with the Leicester under 23s

Could this be the FC Twente/Matt Smith kick-start to George's career?

Very impressed with how George walked straight into the starting eleven today! First game after Winter break and a MUST WIN match v bottom of the league Waalwijk.

Don't let the 2-0 home victory fool you. Two goals from two dead balls. A lot of hard work ahead of Pardew. In the second half, Den Haag only had 15%-20% possession...
As for Thomas. Lasted the entire 90' and played well, considering the poor possession stats. Was a box-to-box Rambo style midfielder in the first half. And was a lot more of a defensive mid in the second.
Onto Utrecht on Friday...

George started again and played 88'. I bet Pardew regrets taking him off, as they had a pen in extra time that was missed!
They lost 4-0 ... which was a fair enough result, with George doing a lot more defending than what he would have expected. At times, he was their main ball-pressing man. Plenty of energetic running, that's for sure...
Played a mostly free role drifting in from the right wing. Similar to Bale, but with loads of tracking back ...
Had one very inviting opportunity from about ten yards, when he controlled a long ball with his chest, brought it down with his right, but then miss-controlled the shot with his (weaker) left foot.

Forgotten man Thomas has signed for QPR as a free agent. Could be linking up with Keiffer Mawr in a classic big man little man combo

Be interested to see if he can hold down a consistent place. Could be an option for our squad after a few injuries if he's getting regular Championship football

Was as an emergency RWB due to unavailability in the QPR camp. Was yanked when 2-0 down after the half-hour when they changed system.
