My mate has told me about buses from Timisoara to Belgrade, but I can't seem to find anything. Can anyone help?

Sent this to someone who enquired on the weekend: geatours.rs/upit-za-rezervacije (Timisoara is Temišvar in Serbian) I've only done it once to Timisoara but use it all the time to Budapest. You call them/send a message through their website and tell them when and where you want to get picked up. They'll call you a day or so before and confirm a time (sometimes they'll be 2 hours later than you wanted) - they always get you on time for a plane, though. They're usually pretty good at being quick but they can take a while and take you around the houses to pick other people up/drop people off. You should ask on the way to Belgrade which number you are and it may be better to get off earlier and get a service bus/taxi/walk but a bit difficult if you don't know the area. One way is €15 (€30rtn) which you can pay in Euros or Dinars and you usually pay at the services about half way between the two cities.

The couple of options into from the uk Timisoara both arrive very late 10.30 and 11pm. Would that be too late to get to Belgrade ? I wasn't going to bother and haven't bought match tickets but may consider this as an option although I cant travel until the sat afternoon.

I've only travelled to Budapest with them overnight and they got me there in time for a 6am flight (left Belgrade at 10, arrived Budapest at 3) so I can't see why not, but it would be worth e-mailing them to find out just in case. The other option is the Timisoara: 06.49 - Vrsšac 08.42 | 09.40 - Belgrade 11.18 train that would get you in too, but it's a bit of a hassle and the website doesn't seem to account for the hour's time difference as the train journeys are the same both ways.

I imagine you are a Wrexham lad? Have you Noticed the Saturday option on the main thread from Manchester to Belgrade for €50? It is a 0730 departure, though...
Also, there is an East Mids dept Saturday at 12 noon to NIS (arrive 7pm), which is an easy bus ride into Belgrade - also just €50

A post on the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree, 11 days ago ...
Note train timetable Timisoara Nord to Vrsac 07:49 - 08:52 16:38 - 17;45
There are four direct trains from Vrsac to Belgrade: at 5.15, 9.40, 13.50 and 18.00. Loads of buses as well, with the last bus departure at 21.35!
"The Timisoara-Belgrade train is two sectors taking about an hour and a half each. You can get out at Vrsac and stretch your legs (avoid the toilets on the station, though). There is a small cafe a block away from Vrsac station where you can get food\drinks if you have the time. The lady that runs it is really friendly and speaks good English.
There are more trains doing the Belgrade-Vrsac leg of the trip than the Vrsac-Timisoara leg, so you can have a break and catch the next train if you want (I did the opposite - I got an earlier train from Belgrade because I was tired of hanging around Belgrade on a wet and stormy day). The scenery on this trip is also much more interesting."
