Just wondering if anyone is thinking about this away trip?
Not that far away actually.

Still flights under £400 return with Norwegian Air from Gatwick.
Great at bars in Santa Monica and some decent hotels in Pasadena

Anyone got any recommendations on where to stay in LA, was looking at nearer Hollywood Boulevard ? Few of us staying in Santa Monica for few days. ( nice beach loads of British/ Irish style pubs) and small enough to get around on foot. Then heading up to Pasadena for four days. LA is enormous and a mass sprawling metropolis so that’s why load of us decided to stick with Santa Monica which also leads into Venice beach area. Bayside hotel just up from beach front is where we are staying in SM.

Hollywood's a bit of a shithole to be honest. But Sunset Boulevard is worth a night or two on the piss (viper rooms, whiskey a go go)
Personally would avoid downtown LA.
I think the beach areas are a good shout. Pasadena itself also looks ok.

Best to have a hard copy as there was an instance recently of an individual having problems though I believe confirmation on the phone should have been ok. So I will take hard copy to save on the possible hassle.

It's on the system when they swipe your passport at customs, I have never ever had to produce a copy of my esta and I go to the states 3-4 times a year.
