Ive decided to put this in a new thread away from all the bitching as its a serious question and I ask it wanting a serious response. So would everyone wanting to have a pop at me please make a seperate thread where all that childish rubbish can be contained.
So....In light of this new homegrown rule meaning premier clubs need a quota of players trained for a certain number of years under the age of 21 in the UK clubs like Liverpool with a high number of foreign players have been buying British youngsters. Is it a worrying sign that some of our youngsters appear to be moving between championship/League One and scottish sides? Or is it better that they stay where they are and develop at their current club and a lack of premiership interest says nothing about their long term prospects?
I have to say Im surprised not to have seen moves for Matthews and Allen, especially as Cardiff may be persuaded to sell reasonably cheaply due to their financial situation.
Surely these two are just as good as the Scot and English lad that Liverpool have just bought? With this rule in mind, Ledleys transfer to Celtic seems mystifying. I understand that prem clubs would have to pay the development fee but surely thats a small price to pay compared to his potential value?

It's slightly worrying, but in some respects I'd prefer our players to go up with a club as they're more likely to stay there (I'm thinking about the Wolves players mainly) and get games. More of a concern for me are the fact that our strikers don't seem to be progressing.
This homegrown rule is a strange one though as I think it refers to players coached in the UK, therefore given the age Arsenal for example are shipping in the players then all their foreign lads count I think. Presumably the 2 brazilian full backs and Anderson count for Man U etc.
Anyway best thing I think is for all our players to get a full season on first team action - at least 35 games each, then see where we are.
