Many years ago we had the dragonsoccer message board which helped us Welsh fans keep in contact and up to date with things before social media took off. Without any notice the board disappeared and we had no way of finding other members to get a new one started - it sounds crazy in todays age but that is what happened. Tim P (or Trendy as he was known on the old board - how do i remember that?) made this message board. It took a while for us old members to find it but eventually we did. Someone would comment on every BBC comments page with a link to it etc. Anyway - that's the history but thats not the reason for my post. I've noticed that Tim has not logged on here for over a year. Maybe hes lost interest, i dont know. But if hes the owner of this message board and hes not active is there a chance this board may disappear too? Any admins able to answer? Sorry for the strange post, just curious

Sorry if I'm wrong there Neil, but in my hazy memory there was no notice - i guess we did know it was coming then. We certainly didnt get a new board for ages - i did speak with you a few times when it happened. Either way that's not what my post is about - just hoping Tim's ok and that the future of this board is too.

This board has gone downhill since the Euros imo, a lot of good contributors have stopped posting on here for one reason or another.
Maybe it's because all we ever wanted was to see Wales qualify for a major tournament, and we got so much more than that in France.
There's not as much to discuss now I guess, and we need new dreams to chase.
I still prefer this forum to Twitter.

no problem, sent a tweet out as well. Thanks! Always appreciated the message board you set up and the website itself. It was so tough supporting Wales during the bad times, it was great to chat with like minded people as you didnt come across many in real life! Was completely lost when the message board went. Credit to you for doing it for so long, it was appreciated

Maybe, I think a lot of people are struggling for motivation since the Euros. 58 years of heartache but we had more to talk about before France, now most conversations are more about "remember when"

Nobody who went would have ever seen Wales in a tournament before, the fact it was only over the road in France made it so convenient, topping the group over England, the Belgium win, HRKs goal, getting to the semis. It was always downhill from there. But i cant wait til the Nations League games, and our youthful squad is as exciting as it gets for us. We've got a lot to look forward to, even if the disjointed Euro 2020 across Europe will never live up to France! (Got to get there first as well)

I'm looking forward to the next campaign too, we have an exciting group of players, hopefully Giggs can make a good team out of them. Promising signs so far!

I too had noticed that TP had gone (I remember he was TrendyChorlton then changed to TrendyPontcanna!), and had wondered the same thing (i.e. does it affect the status of this board), but don't have an answer unfortunately.

Yeah used to be on the old Dragon Soccer message board, using the same user name. Rarely used to post on there though. I don't blame dragonsoccer for closing it down, it got very toxic circa. 2003 / 2004 when it looked like we might qualify for Euro 2004. If I remember rightly chislenko was also on the board (who made one of my favourite posts of all time). For those that can remember the old Dragon Soccer message board, can anyone remember the even older "Wales Away" Yahoo group?

Yes was a member of Darren's Wales Away group, when I was on DS I was another Russian footballer, Yashin, but it wouldn't let me use it on here hence I changed to the left winger from their 66 squad, Chislenko. Even back then I was supporting anybody but England!!! USSR back then, not Russia, use to love the shirt with CCCP on it. That will be the "concrete post" that you reminded me of a couple of years back gwernybwch

I mean...obviously, that's what everyone would like lol.
