Just looked at the seating map for the first time in a while... half the upper deck corners sections are on sale now, other than that mostly the more expensive tickets left. It will be very close to a home sellout but perhaps not quite by at most 1500. A convincing win against T & T and they will soon sell out bro. Yeah you're probably right on that.

I see that Hamsik has joined Dalian and Yannick Carrasco in the Chinese league (reported €20m fee). Only played two matches in the new season, but scored none (whereby Carrasco has already got 3 from the left wing). He is almost 32, Dare I say it. Perhaps he is past his best?

It will definitely lift the players if they walk out for the warm up and see a stadium full of red, ready to get behind them and create a brilliant atmosphere for the game! Can we get the barry horns/walesaway/redwallnews and any other twitter pages to spread the message? Can anyone come up with a good hashtag? #GetThereEarly Maybe the FAW/Media can get some of the players to do a little clip saying something like "Come into the stadium early, we can't wait to get going".... One week to go!! With a return to the Racecourse first of course

Tickets selling quite fast with only a few bits left to release. It appears that Slovakia have been left with a fairly chunky section of the ground and that they've been given well over the basic allocation. On that basis are we being given a tidy allocation for the return ?
I assume we'll be following Irelands lead with us and making sure we get the best possible allocation for our fans. To that end I assume we have negotiated our allowance whilst agreeing theirs. So I assume its fairly healthy for the Slovakia away game and we're getting ready to play hard ball with the Croatians and Hungarians. # More in hope than expectation.
Did we ever get any feedback on the interest surveys for this tournament ?

Maybe have the pre match entertainment in other parts of the ground to try and generate atmosphere all around the ground.
Why always the Canton stand for entertainment before the game?
I pay more for tickets and get less in that respect.

So can any of you more knowledgeable folks give a bit of a rundown on the Slovaks? reading above some of their players are getting on in years but have they any dangerous players we need to look out for, they don't seem a team we could have an average game against and be comfortable, but saying that if a few of our better players fire we should be fine, but you know us welsh football fans cant take anything for granted:),nervously hopeful as always though.

Maybe they should invite the Welsh rugby team for a congratulatory ceremony before the match, that'll probably get a few in earlier!
(and no I'm not being sarcastic)

I pay more for tickets and get less in that respect. There is a purpose built stage there accessible from Ninian and Canton Stand. Usually family events in Grange End (for Cardiff games anyway)

Looking at their squad they appear to lack experience at the back (only 2 defenders in double figures caps wise) with only 2 recognised strikers, and one of them plays for Dundee United So their strength again will be midfield. We need to make sure we are not overrun here as we know from previous experience they have a killing instinct once in sight of our goal

If their squad is anything like the one that won the dead-rubber game against Ukraine in November then we should be very confident: www.skysports.com/football/slovakia-vs-ukraine/teams/399798Pekarik is a 32 year-old right back, playing for Hertha Berlin. He's only played twice this season. Hancko a 21 year old right-back has only played 4 times this season for Fiorentina. Skriniar, a centre-back for Inter, is their star player apart from Hamsik - and has played loads. Skrtel is also a regular - but is now 34, and we saw in the Euro 2016 tournament that his best days are behind him. Rusnak has 3 appearances this season for Real Salt Lake City. We should not be fearing this lot - even with Hamsik. They also have to play Hungary on Thursday - a local "derby", before they face us. This is a must win with the squad we have available and where the opposition are at.

I didnt realise he just got sold to a chinese club too. Must win however you look at it yep.

If Wales had only 2 and a half days recovery time between matches we'd be up in arms over it. Slovakia must be livid to have such a short space of time between qualifying matches. Not our problem - we have to exploit any weakness and really take the game to them. At least Giggs can be relied upon to set us up to take the game to Slovakia - but we still need a balanced approach - so none of this Ramsey in a two-man holding role nonsense please.

Roberts - Williams - Mepham - Davies
Ramsey - Allen - Smith/Ampadu
...then hit them full in the face with pace.
Brooks - Bale - Wilson/James

Agreed have to take advantage of aging legs and lack of match sharpness these guys will hopefully have, really don't want to back off and leave them pass it about to much.

Looking at their squad Skertel (103 caps), Hubocan (64 caps), Weiss (66 caps) and Nemec (42 caps) have all retired since they last met up in November. Also, Zrefak, their main striker in the last two games, seems to be out injured.

Can't say I'm too impressed with their roster on paper so you'd hope this should do the job!

They look weaker than they were at Euro16 while we are arguably stronger. Together. Stronger together...or something like that.

Škriniar is a huge improvement on Skrtel but we have far more going forward than we did back then. Aside from Hamšík, there's nothing for them going forward that I'm too fearful of. These look slightly better than Ireland but no where near as good as Denmark. I'm fairly confident that we should get the result, I just hope Giggs picks the right team and gets the best out of our in form players.

Get in early for the game in Wrexham as well. We do not have the facilities that Cardiff have, so getting into the ground will be a nightmare 10 minutes before. Arrive an hour early, grab a beer and pie inside (profits go towards Wrexham AFC) and get the atmosphere going early.

Agres that they look weaker, Hamsik, their best player is now in China so he isn't the same player (I presume) I dont think we're stronger tbh. Our defence is weaker, and I think the general team and squad isn't as cohesive. Our biggest weakness imo is that Giggs doesnt know his best starting 11, but neither do I.

Always feel its a bit fanciful to expect everyone to get into the ground early tbh. Personally I prefer to go in early but when you're with a relatively big bunch of lads, it just isn't going to happen is it? Different matter if you're with kids etc of course.
With the 2pm kick off time, I think it'll be harder to get people in early if anything, as a lot of fans will want to squeeze a few pints in first.

Chester is a loss for us, central defence could be a problem. What form is Ash in? Perhaps Ben or Dummett could move inside to partner Mepham plus Ash? Otherwise looks very in-experienced at the back. However, wing back doesn't look a problem position to me, we've cover there.

The midfield is their strength, they have a lot of caps in there. Aside from Skriniar they have a weak defense, so I think we will be well placed to hit them on the break.
