Phil Cadden said it's the 'probable' team in today's papers. I hope Joniesta gets the nod, but I'm happy with Wilson or Lawrence too.

Lawrence had started the season in good form though, so it's a tough call for Giggsy. I just think you've got to make the most of Jonny whilst he's fit. I doubt he's been this fit in several years.

A morale boosting victory would be very welcome this evening after the last couple of inept performances, even if we are unlikely now to qualify for Euro 2020.

Bloody hell, it's not all doom and gloom is it?
Even if we finish third in the group we'll still have a chance of qualifying through the nations league playoffs.
We've got young players high on confidence in James and Wilson, tonight will be perfect for them to kick on.
With Bale getting back to form, I have faith that we'll be alright.

Yeah I'm still not quite sure what position we're in but surely it's not that bad. We've only played 3 games (2 of them probably the toughest as well and away from home) I'm feeling positive ahead of this one - 6 points after 4 games I hope and some big double headers to come that can put us back in contention.

It doesn't matter what position we finish, I.e 3rd 4th or 5th. We'll still almost certainly make the playoffs based on our nations league rating.

3 points tonight and we are right back in it. Yes we have been awful in the last 2 games but let's stay positive We looked pretty poor in Budapest and were perhaps lucky to survive 80' without conceding. I genuinely thought we played really well v Croatia and should have at least got a draw, maybe even a win.

Strange how people see things differently. I thought we were poor against Hungary but didn't look likely to concede until we did - and then could have conceded several more. Against Croatia we had good chances to score which we spurned, but our performance was terrible. We need a result tonight for sure, but almost as much we need a performance to give us back some sort of belief that Giggs has a clue what he's doing. Perform as we did against ROI at home and the dismal double header back in June will be largely forgotten. If we're as piss poor as we were then - well I don't need to go there...

The number of goals scored will almost be as important as securing a win tonight. This group might finish quite tightly and goal difference could be crucial. Reasonably happy with the line-up. Giggs might yet be monitoring these boards PS. Welcome back Taylor.

We are not aggressive enough... 😯
Lumping it to Bale and James is not a strategy 😕
Azerbaijan though are a disgraceful bunch of players.
Really need to up the pace in the second half.

I have to agree I'm afraid. So much potential and quality and we are not maximising the sum of our parts!
The only thing I will say is that at least the defence looks more solid!

Got to say, I cant see what the hell we are trying to do, not good enough, front three is not working , no pressure on their keeper. I'd change things h/t , we need goals.
