Spuds defence look a mess tonight. Wonder why?

Spuds defence look a mess tonight. Wonder why? Could be pure speculation, but I've seen a lot on social media about a rift in the Spurs dressing room. The rumour stated that Vertonghen had slept with Eriksen's wife, and that a big argument had taken place in the changing room. Half the squad not talking to each other due to the argument and Pochettino currently unable to resolve the dispute. Would certainly explain the poor start from Spurs after they looked so strong last year.

I was very glad to look at the lineup on the report of that shit-show this morning and realise that Davies was an unused sub!

i know Davies is coming back from an injury, but having watched the game last night i cant believe Rose is ahead of him. Rose was truly awful last night.

Captain material...
He sets high expectations for the team and for himself.
It's not a problem, but I'd like to see Davies or Allen take the armband ahead of Bale.
I would say give it to Ramsey after Ash retires, but he doesn't play for us consistently enough.

Ben steps up to captain Spurs today. Personally think he should be our captain when Williams isn't playing (and should be captain when Williams retires)... Bale isn't captain material, Ramsey plays about 1 in 2 games for us if we are lucky, and Allen gets yellows too often so misses quite a few games through suspension.

Has he captained spurs before?? Great for him, but surprising considering Rose is first choice LB thus not even a main starting 11 player.
How many Welsh players have captained a Premier League game/side I wonder? Cant be many.

Ramsey, Savage, Coleman, Hartson? Saunders maybe?
Did Bale captain Spurs in his last season?

Watched the full game and Davies was quite poor today. He seemed to be lacking in confidence. He got beat a couple of times in defence, but the worst thing is he was uncharacteristically very poor on the ball. Sheffield played a high press and spurs couldn't handle it. Dier was the worst culprit - he had an absolute mare and gave it away almost every time he was on the ball. Davies was probably the second worst defender, he gave it away at least 5 times in the first half and let crosses in far too easily, eventually leading to their goal.

Spurs management change has completely over shadowed our qualification it seems. No one is talking about us 45 minutes into the SSN hour and we haven’t been mentioned. They could have waited a few days... rude!

Pfft, I would expect nothing more from SSN or any other 'national' broadcaster. We're of no interest to them and I don't really give a shit tbh

Davies should be holding down a first-team spot at Spurs or looking for a move away. He's easily been our most consistent player.

Terrible decision by Spurs and then they appoint Jose .
Lets hope his appointment does not hinder Ben's involvement in the first team.

Until then it’s not really much consequence. There’s probably a good argument for going under the radar too.

I'd like to think so too, but I was thinking that he would prefer the fresher player in Rose this weekend who I don't rate in comparison.

He played really well first half. Then he got injured whilst giving a foul away in the second and struggled on. He was largely at fault for their first goal by not closing down the crosser at all (probably because of the injury) and got subbed quickly after. I can see him being first choice under mourinho though
