Bale back in the goals with a strike reminiscent of those he scored against Inter 8 years ago. How Spurs could have done with him this week.

Agree. Let's hope he can keep this up for the next few weeks - without getting injured (touched some wood as I typed that!). Lucky it was you who said that about the wood. I see Bale's Madrid nightmare goes on and on

There was only ever one winner in my books, and it wasn't that bench-warmer at Madrid As the man says: ALLLH , ALLLH, ALLLH

Bale's been decent tonight despite Madrid loosing 3-0. He's looked a threat and created a few chances for himself. However, he's been quite wasteful with those chances (including a one on one that was saved, and a couple of hits in the box that he didn't catch right). So, with Madrid losing, I expect him to get a bit of flack again...

... I hope Gareth will forgive the "bench-warmer" remark, above. I didn't think that the Mods might move that post here ... Love your burgers, Gareth ;-)

Very disappointing result for Real but seeing as Barcelona also endured a shock loss (something in the water...?), there'll be no significant change in points and Real will undoubtedly get their act together, as (hopefully) will Bale. These things happen to even some of the best teams occasionally.

Gareth doesn’t do small injuries. When reports say a muscle problem we have to fear the worst because of the history he has with muscle injuries

According to Marca, he was seen stretching his abductor 5 minutes before the break. Doesn't sound like anything that would keep him out for too long but it would be typical of our luck if it ruled him out of our next two matches.

After almost a year clean of injuries, Bale said enough. The Welshman had to be replaced at rest with problems in his right adductor

Couldn't give two shits about whether he's fit for the Spain game, but if he's out for Ireland that'll be a major blow. We're better than them without him, but not by a great amount.

On the flip side, we went without Bale in Serbia and should've beaten them and Serbia are a far better side than Ireland.
We could really do with Ramsey stepping up again, and for the youngsters to perform as well as they did in Cardiff.
