Jazz had a good game except for that clearance straight to Davies.

The Premiership can be an unforgiving place and the fans by the sound of it but far better that Jazz is getting to cut his teeth in the Premier than the Championship. I don't think Monk would play him unless he had the confidence in him which is good. He will make mistakes but those better players like de Gea of Man U learn from them and improve. Easier for Coleman to judge a player at that level than guess if a player looking good at Championship level can step up to international standard.

I was encouraged to see that he came on for a struggling Rangel. however, that mistake could put him back and possibly lost the trust of Monk who might have thought of starting ahead of Rangel soon

Every time I've watched Swansea this season Rangel has been f*cking awful. I think it says a lot that Richards hasn't taken his spot sooner and that Rangel still starts over him. I'd be surprised if Swansea don't sign a right back in January. If they don't they'll be taking a huge leap of faith.

Rangel hasn't been that bad - Swansea's defensive record is one of the best in the Premier League after all. However, it's true he's had a mare in the last two games defensively, although against Spurs he was back to his best going forward. I think it's quite likely that Richards will get some more game time between now and the transfer window closing, especially with the fixtures piling up. What he really needs is a run of games, which won't happen unless Rangel gets injured or a straight red and a three match ban. Swansea are unlikely to sign anyone in the January window, although someone could arrive on loan. All in all, I think Richards will get some game time, but probably not enough to prove one way or other whether he is truly a Premier League calibre player. Worth noting that in his after-match press conference that Monk said that Richards had played very well - apart from his clanger.

Rangel had a brilliant beginning to the season. Swans supporters overall many football supporters shall know, that from when Martinez purchased Dyer in January 2009 the remainder of 2008-2009, 2010-2011, 2011-2012 seasons, the combo of Rangel - Dyer had been lethal - caused many problems. When Dyer's good run in September began to fade, Rangel in turn faded. Mind you I thought he'd been poor last season, the season before that - still just my opinion. In regards to Richards, have come across the crap he got on Twitter - out of order - that can not mask my opinion that I still think he has just a Championship defender if not midfielder.

Kyle Naughton joining Swansea for £5m subject to agreement of personal terms.
Looks like the championship beckons for Jazz.

The guy just needs to play football or he will never find out how good he is, hopefully go to a decent championship team and get plenty of games. If he does well could challenge Gunter in time.
The writing was on the wall even before this transfer of Naughton with Tiendelli being picked ahead of him against Chelsea

I was at the Tranmere game, where Jazz and Tiendalli both played. Tiendalli looked more composed - but had the advantage of having the experienced Dyer in front of him, whose continual movement gave Tiendalli options to pass or run into the space created by Dyer drawing defenders away. Jazz, on the other hand, often had no outlet ball, because Barrow was far too static and easily marked. Consequently, Jazz looked tentative in comparison, but in fact prevented a certain goal with three blocks in quick succession and got an assist, whereas Tiendalli did neither.
There's no doubt that Jazz hasn't had the luck that Davies has had, in terms of getting a run in the first team - and that possibility is looking even dimmer now. So, I would agree that moving on is probably his best option. If he does move, I hope it's to a passing team - and therefore makes proper use of his strengths. Trouble is, there aren't too many of those below Premier League level.
I think Jazz has the raw ingredients ability wise to be an asset to Wales in the future, but above all he needs game time and the confidence that will hopefully come with it.

I don't think Rangel will get his renewed in all honesty. If anything, Swansea should loan out Jazz for the rest of the season if possible, somewhere where he will play every match, and then take it forward in the summer. Also, Jazz is more of a CM, but has been forced to play full-back in all of his senior appearances. Would be nice to see him have a run out in the middle.

If Gunter doesn't come back before the end of March (he's still not back for Reading) who would you play at RB?
Jazz or Matthews?
Think I would be tempted to play Taylor there and Ben Davies at LB.

If we were at home I'd not mind. Of the options away from home probably go with Taylor too

Gunter was on the bench tonight - so it looks likely that he'll be available. If not, I'd go with Taylor - his form has been improving slowly but steadily throughout the season. In the last couple of games the Swansea full backs have been given more license by Monk - and Taylor's contribution going forward has benefited. It would still be a risk playing him out of position - but then no more of a risk than playing Gary Speed at left back. That didn't turn out too badly did it?

He's got to start the game and at left back. Gunter/Richards/Mathews for RB. Taylor hasn't played RB for 30 months.

If Gunter was out I would go for Richards as a better defensive RB than Matthews. Although Matthews I believe is a more attack minded RB. Given that in my ideal team Bale would be At RM I would have Richards there as I don't think he would get caught out of position often.
I suppose Gunter possesses both these qualities. He gets up and down and has a great engine. Hes just not as good a defender as Richards, and not as good an attacker as Matthews. I suppose were quite lucky to have 3 RBs with different qualities.

I'd be far more comfortable having Taylor RB & Davies LB than Taylor LB and anyone other than Gunter at RB. For me Gunter, Taylor & Davies are far and away our first set of full backs for this campaign, and no one else should play unless 2 of 3 are injured, or of course one is injured and Davies is required to be one of 3 CBs. Richards always seems to be a disaster waiting to happen when I watch him play, and Matthews is just a mystery at this moment having not played for us in ages.

It pissed me right off with him playing there for TeamGB so Ryan Bertrand could play at left back, as he had hardly played for Chelsea the previous season compared to Neil at Swansea. I know I am in a small camp regarding being pro-TeamGB back in 2012, but would never want a full FIFA recognised team.

It also enables what I think most would consider, our 2 best full backs, to play. The risk of throwing in a Matthews or Richards is big and needless in my opinion. I want to see Matthews play in a friendly for us before he plays a competitive game.

The most worrying thing for me is
Would Coleman pick Ricketts if Gunter wasn't fit?

Richards has extended his loan until the end of the season.
He really has to pull out the stops if he wants a decent move in the summer and now has the chance to prove to himself what level he can play at

He gets far too much stick from Swansea fans, seem to hate him a lot of them for some reason. I got a feeling it's probably as he is from the city and plays for the team and many are jealous. Don't get me wrong he's not a world beater but those saying he is League one standard are either on drugs or nuts... but probably both.
