Watched Wrexham tonight and the keeper Maxwell made a howler which eventually put Wrexham out.
However I think he's good and wont be at Wrexham too much longer, deffo one for the future, looks to have a big personality too!

Only a matter of time before he leaves Wrexham. He's not the tallest (but then neither is Casillas), and is prone to the odd glaring error, but he's got the quality and attitude to do well at a bigger club eventually.

Interestingly, according to Wiki, he started seasons as second choice to Russell and Shearer but quickly replaced them and held onto the jersey. A sign of good character

Guardian had this thing in their website a few months back choosing a team for the olympics (ie u23, presuming all nations) - anyway they went for Maxwell in goal which surprised me. He's got to have something about him as people are taking note of a non-league player.

The English press are clueless when it comes to Welsh players though. I read something in the telegraph about how Jazz Richards could make the Olympic team because he impressed in Swansea's promotion last season( when he actually only started less than 10 games) There was no mention of Neil Taylor or Joe Allen, who both made much more telling contributions to their promotion.

If Coleman is going to call a 3rd keeper into the squad to replace Myhill, I'd call up this guy. Ok, he's in the conference but Cambridge are 7 points clear now and he's kept clean sheet after clean sheet.
Good keeper- confident, bit of attitude(in a good way!).. seems to enjoy the big occasion if his performance for Wrecsam in the FA trophy final is anything to go by.

Not for me, too low a level to be calling up players, Lewis Price is a decent keeper, remember Cyprus away and also the game he played this campaign he didn't let anyone down.
Just wish the guy would get a number 1 position somewhere

News tonight that Kyle Letheran is being released by Dundee -thus joining OFW and Lewis Price in being without a club.I understand loyalty to players but if Chris Maxwell is not in the Belgium squad its ridiculous.The first 3 are deemed dispensable by their clubs and even Danny Ward has never played higher than L2 (Maxwell first choice L1 goalie).Understand loyalty to players but their must be a stage where you go for the strongest squad available !

Admittedly I haven't seen the lad play for a couple of years, but being a Wrexham fan i can tell you the lad is class. How he isn't at least championship level I do not know, and also credit to him for keeping on knuckling down rather than moaning about not being called up. Hopefully he can force his way into our Euro 2016 (when we get there) squad.

Agreed. How old is Lewis Price now? I can't believe he has been released. Always played well for us Price will get a club. Whether he gets first team football is debatable. He seems to get games on loan though in the lower leagues. I suspect Price may have sabotaged his own career by taking the easy bunce of the life as a reserve goalkeeper higher up the leagues when he could have worked his way up from the bottom and made a name for himself (but with less coin). |
