“But Ramsey has been part of the least successful Arsenal team over a decade-long period that we’ve probably ever had.
“So let’s get things in perspective."
Arsenal went 17 years without winning anything between 1953 and 1970.

It does make you wonder why on earth did Juve sign such a liability on such a massive wage.
Ruined my excitement for tomorrows match. I imagine Vaulks will start seeing as he played a full match Wednesday, that was probably the plan B that Giggs was on about.
Will be lucky to come away with a draw tomorrow.

Wish we could move on from ramsey, the negative effect of his pull outs probably outweight the plusses when he does actually play.liability.

I wonder if there might be something in this about being concerned about being injured between club contracts.
As much as losing one of our leading players we could really have done without it being a central midfielder.

Wish we could move on from ramsey, the negative effect of his pull outs probably outweight the plusses when he does actually play.liability. We moved on long ago- even when he is available he is only there 'in spirit', anonymous against Denmark twice, ROI in the WC twice, the last big game he had by my reckoning was Serbia away. It's only the fans that seem to have an unwavering faith in him, for "this time next year we'll be millionaires" read "this time next campaign we'll definitely get a good performance out of Ramsey". I'll never understand it because, to my mind Allen, Bale and now Brooks are far more important. Heck, I'd even back Wilson to conjure something before Ramsey does for Wales these days. I'll give him credit that his league form has picked up but given his performances in a Welsh shirt I would definitely not pin any hopes on him or look to build a team round him.

Lets hope Arsenal get dumped out of the Europa league giving him over 3 weeks rest before the June games. The final is little more than a week before those games.

Some absolute nonsense being spouted in this thread. Bloody hell, talk about England fans being delusional 🤔

Giggs did a lot of good against Slovakia, so I don't want to immediately criticise him. However, ramsey is starting tonight so both he and lawrence are starting a week after pulling out, does it suggest we're being too weak in our club relations? It's almost as if the slightest hint of a knock is enough to not play for Wales - lawrence is one thing, but to do that with ramsey in such a huge game is concerning. It might be a coincidence, they might have been at sort of 70% during the international break and are up to around 90% now, but I doubt it...

ooops, he's done it again ;-) Needed to score twice to make one count. Both were beauties.
... Just like with Tom Lawrence - a miraculeous recovery in 8 days ...

Another surprise surprise. Ramsey putting in a motm performance so far after 'recovering' quickly. Giggs seriously needs to step up with this sort of stuff, but he's hardly a role model in these sort of scenarios. Xhaka on the other hand got injured on int duty, the irony.

At least Ramsey joined up with the squad.
Surprised he wasnt at least on the bench against Slovskia given how well he has played tonight. Surely had 2o mins in him

Rambo reportedly had a minor injury prior to the Slovakia game and it was thought he'd be clear by then. I assume the decision not to play him was pre-cautionary. I don't know the ins and outs, but it's been a week since then and perhaps that was sufficient time to recover from what was thought to be a minor knock. Anyway, great goal from him tonight. First shot on target of the game, to hit the back of the net too

He doesn't get the praise he deserves. Just before he went off he played an extraordinary ball through, the one where they were claiming hand ball from Dummet. Nobody even referred to it in the commentary. We need to try and replicate it for wales, be an absolute beauty for Bale to run onto.

It's a simple fact that for minor injuries the difference between 10 days recovery time and 18 days recovery time is quite big. Nearly double the time to recover. 10 days was too short of a turnaround to recover for Slovakia, but 18 days was plenty of time to make a full recovery. As previously suggested Ramsey is a model professional, and wouldn't miss a Wales game unless he was unable to play.

Also, it's not like he didn't turn up. He was with us throughout and it would be OUR fitness staff that made the decision. Looks like they were probably right as he could only put an hour in before (hopefully cramping and) coming off a whole week later.

It would be different if it was a serious injury, but he came within a whisker of playing. The decision to pull out was probably precautionary.
