I was hoping that the Arsenal would retire the number 8 shirt out of respect to a true legend. No idea who this Dani muppet is, but he is no Aaron ;-((

Any news re: his fitness with the squad announcement 8 days away? He returned to train with the squad on the 5th or 6th (Juve confirmed on twitter on the 6th). I was expecting him to feature in their game last saturday, but must have been too early. It doesn't look like they have their first game until the 24th and I'd expect Ramsey to fully fit by then - although clearly not match sharp at all. Asides from the 24th, they have another game on the 31st and then it's the international break. Seeing as he's had no preseason and considering they have plenty of options in midfield, I'd expect him to start both game on the bench with a few mins to build his sharpness (depending on the score) in each match. Not ideal for us

Promising - I count 11 players there including a keeper and Ronaldo. I don't recognise some of the faces but looks like a potential starting lineup!

Came on for the last 20' v. Triestina ;-)))) Had a pot shot from 20m about 20 seconds after coming on... Missing a yard of pace, but otherwise looking sharp. Linked up well enough with Emery Can and had a gorgeous back-heel lay-off for Higuain saved (SEE BELOW).
No evidence of any weight gain...
WELCOME BACK, AARON - YOU HAVE BEEN MISSED ;-)

Interesting quote from ramsey in this article: "I know I haven't had the minutes on the pitch, apart from tonight, but I feel good physically. It will take a few games to get there." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49384772We all know he's a really passionate Welshman, is a massive fan of the Welsh rugby team and would probably be a big fan of the footie team too if he wasn't playing. So it's obvious that playing for Wales has meant a lot to him over the years. However, I think he sees this Juve move as a massive opportunity for him and I suspect that Wales has fallen down his priority list since his move. That's pure speculation, I know, but just reading from the fact he didn't give any updates when we weren't sure what his injury situation was like in the last double header and whether he'd make those games, I can't remember him tweeting anything about the games like he usually does. And in the quote above, despite us playing in three weeks time and each of our remaining group games are now massive must-wins, he comes across as being very relaxed about taking a few games to build up his sharpness. So it doesn't seem like Wales is at the forefront of his mind at all at the moment. Or, I might just be reading hell of a lot too much into one sentence!

Or, I might just be reading hell of a lot too much into one sentence! 1) I think that was probably on advice from the FAW so that Croatia & Hungary were on their toes about preparing to play against him. 2) I think given that he has just started a new chapter in his life he will be focused on that, and getting out on the pitch to make a good first impression to the Juve supporters, before switching his attention to the internationals. Don't forget that if he doesn't get minutes at Juve he's less likely to make a positive impact for us. Wouldn't read too much into it, just keep your fingers crossed that he is fit enough to start against Azerbaijan. I think Rambo is now our most influential player, and will bring the best out of the rest of our attacking talent.

Disaster - Ramsey hasn't been included in Juve's final game before the international break www.juventus.com/en/news/news/2019/23-squad-list-parmajuve.phpI can see him starting against azerbaijan and putting in a poor performance, as it usually takes a couple of games to get him up to speed when he's been out, and he has a sum total of 20mins playing time in the last several months!

Not unexpected.
Get an hour out of him or half hour from the bench.
Would start him myself.
He may be used as a sub and then given half against Belarus

They have a game against Napoli next Saturday so still some time to get another run out in. If he doesn't I'll be very surprised if he starts our first game.

I don't care if he plays V Napoli or not he starts for me. We can always bring him off at half time if he's flagging. How does that make him a doubt???

Because rushing a player back who has a history of injuries just increases the risk of further injury. If he's fit then naturally he'll start but if he's not then we'll have to manage without him, should be seeing Azerbaijan with or without him.

No point indulging ourselves in September, if this could potentially risk his availability in Oct/Nov. Would be happy to just have him in the squad (or even as a +1, like his mate Ash)

Lee Evans must be tearing his hair out.
My guess is Lawrence starts out wide with Wilson in the middle, but it'll be interesting to see if Jonny gets the nod.

joniesta is better than wilson at getting on the ball and dribbling, but wilson has a good strike on him.
giggs obvs has a problem with Lee Evans, but surely Andy King would be a better replacement than Levitt?!

A new, lower back injury ;-(
"Aaron Ramsey is a doubt in Juve’s match against Napoli this weekend having suffered a lower back injury. The Welsh international had already withdrawn from the national team squad for matches in September, opting to focus on his fitness in order to feature for the Bianconeri. Reports from Juventus today confirm that the midfielder has missed today’s training session due to an injury to his lower back. This inevitably puts him at risk for Saturday’s game against Napoli having already missed last weekends game against Parma due to fitness issues. The midfielder is also recovering from a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined since April." www.juvefc.com/aaron-ramsey-in-doubt-for-napoli/
