Ramsey on the bench for Juve today. Kick off 1400.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious he's not going to be a starter at Juve. Even if he is fit, consistency has always been an issue with Aaron and unlike a feckless Arsenal, I'd expect Juventus to be ruthless in their selection policy.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious he's not going to be a starter at Juve. What are you basing this on? Yesterday was the first time he's been deemed fit to play, but he didn't start because they're easing him back from injury. He didn't come off the bench because Juve had to spend all their subs on replacing injured players. I imagine the plan would have been to bring him on for 20 mins or so at the end of the game.

Khedira & Pjanic who are the best midfielders in Serie A, then Matuidi and Rabiot who destroyed Ligue 1, and then there's the highly-rated youth talent Bentancur all to compete with. All have won serious competitions and a couple of World Cups, not some poxy pre-season trinkets. No disrespect to Rambo, but these are a different class of players to those he was playing alongside at Arsenal, they're not a bunch mugs he'll easily dislodge out of the team. Unless they're rotating every few games, it's hard to see Aaron starting outside of cup matches and lesser games. I strongly suspect he'll be making most his appearances from the bench or if there are injuries - and that's if he's not injured himself or horribly out of form.

Firstly, Khedira has been considered to be past his best for a couple of seasons now. I've read that he's having a bit of a revival at the moment, but he's not as good as he was and is in no way one of the best midfielders in the league - he's not among the best at his club imo. Besides, I would put a fit ramsey ahead of peak Khedira. So if khedira is currently considered first choice - ahead of bentancur and matuidi, I'm confident ramsey will get ahead of those three once he proves his fitness. I suspect if all goes well he'll start with pjanic, ramsey and rabiot. Sarri would be a fool to underestimate what ramsey can offer, especially as he had a chance to see him up close last season when he destroyed sarri's chelsea in arsenal's 2-0 win.

Yeah sorry mate, but you sound like you haven't watched any of these players play.
Khedira best midfielder in Serie A? Rabiot destroying Ligue 1?
Khedira was begging for a move to Arsenal in the summer as his legs have gone.

Juventus are an intelligent footballing entity, I don't see why they'd shell out an enormous amount of money per week to see a player sit on the bench.

Adding to the good points others have made, if you understand Sarri's system you'll understand why Ramsey offers so much more than Khedira in that particular role. Ramsey will be a starter without a doubt. In fact pre-season reports suggested that Sarri considered him a lynchpin of this squad given his attributes.

I find it hilarious you're all rubbishing Khedira, he's to Juventus what Fernandinho is to City, in addition to having won 6 league titles, 10 major trophies and a World Cup. He's far from the useless footballer you're all painting him to be. I'll say it again, his new team mates aren't mugs, he's going to have to work harder than ever to secure a spot.

Playing devil’s advocate here, but Sarri’s system was found out by the elite in the premier league. He’s a Poundland manager and Juve should really be making more of a statement in that department. He will do the basics and win Serie A standing on his head because even Stevie Wonder could do that at Juve...but he won’t get far in the CL.

And you know that Fernandinho has been replaced by Rodri at Man City right?
Ramsey was never going to walk into the Juve team, but I've no doubt he's got the ability and attitude to make himself a regular there.
Khedira isn't useless but he's far from the main barrier stopping Ramsey get into the side.

That's a stretch, he finished 3rd and won the europa cup after they'd finished 5th the previous season and did nothing in europe. They're currently 5th and are extremely inconsistent. On that basis, I'd hardly say his system was found out. He performed miracles at Napoli and is regarded as one of the elite-level managers, hence landing the Juve job. I'm sorry, but that post smacks of typical british ignorance when it comes to anything that happens outside England.

I'm sorry, but that post smacks of typical british ignorance when it comes to anything that happens outside England. If you just look at finishing position then yes, I can appreciate why you would think that, but when you look closely at his actual results against the top 6 you can see that he had the upper hand prior to Christmas and then in the second half of the season did not do nearly as well, including a humiliating beasting at the hands of Man City, which somewhat suggests that better quality opponents figured out how to beat Chelsea. There was also plenty of analysis about the shackling of Jorginho effectively neutering Chelsea as an attacking force etc. So I can see him being a flat track bully in the league but the Premiership sides will be very confident of neutralising Juventus in the Champions League in the same way that they neutralised Chelsea and I'm sure that the likes of Atletico and Barcelona will similarly be looking at how Chelsea went in the second half of the season against quality sides as a blueprint of how to go about beating a Sarri side.

They have five games before slovakia, including against quite mediocre teams in verona, bresica and SPAL (who are they?). I suspect he'll start at least one of those and then it will depend on his performance. At the worst, I'd expect him to start at least one game and have 2/3 appearances of the bench.

He'll probably do the following:
Verona - used sub Brescia - used sub SPAL - starter Bayer - starter Inter - injured

It's not a coincidence that the Welsh team's performances have dropped off since Ramsey has been out. I think he's your most important player tbh. As much as I, as a neutral, don't think Giggs is up to the task, he's not been dealt a good hand with injuries to players like Ramsey and Brooks, plus the BaleReal saga.

Last qualifying campaign was a nightmare, only 3 games out of ten where Allen, Ramsey, and Bale were all fit.
Ramsey may come back and play the last 4, but Bale is probably due an injury and Allen will be suspended before the campaign is over.

A fit Ramsey will be the difference between us qualifying or not. There you go...I've jinxed it. *ahem* Like he was in the WC qualifiers? Honestly, I do admire the persistence in believing that he is the key Wales player (and to be fair the stats somewhat point to that conclusion) but on the other hand if I had a quid for every time a Wales fan made a bold claim that Ramsey is going to do this or that to the opposition he inevitably has a crap game and this is in some big matches too (Denmark, ROI etc) where a player of his reputation should be dragging us over the line. I shall once again refer to that Serbia away game and state that by my reckoning that was the last time he had a big performance in a Wales shirt. Happy to be challenged on that though.
