Gets a rare start in the cup tonight. That’s twice in a week, must be feeling dizzy.
Edit: Clean sheet and saved a pen to help them win the shootout.
STILL GOT IT!

Nobody can argue with KS in front of him, let's be honest, he's never going to win the no.1 spot. But credit to him for his good performances in the League Cup, hope they go all the way and he can showcase what he has in a final.

Guess he must have lots of energy considering he plays one game a month if he's lucky, ridiculous.

Not sure What next for Danny.
Thought Keeper might leave in the summer but after what's happened I can see him staying long term
Ward must find a club where he will be first choice or maybe he's happy with the money and not having to do much for it.
Don't we all dream of that

Needs to drop down to the Championship to get regular games. Not ideal, but there's no demand for him in the PL.

Don't we all dream of that Well i think he was of the understanding Schmeichel was going to Chelsea - so he would have been No.1 at Leicester. But he definitely needs to move and get game time, potential to be an excellent goalkeeper.

Should be thoroughly tested against the Pep machine tonight.

Have to admit it was pretty funny seeing him laugh at Sterling's duff penalty but bet he feels pretty silly when he learned his teammates can't take penalties.

When Derby(we) get promoted. I´d like us to buy Ward. Carson not up to that level.

The legend that is Perry Groves was on Talk Sport today saying that its obvious to him that Leicester will need to get rid of Kasper Schmeichel this Summer. Mainly, as he is too influential in the dressing room.
Interesting.

Not even starting in the cup tonight. What a waste of a career so far.

Is it time to give Ward a chance in next month's double header? I know he hasn't been playing but neither have Hennessey or Davies.
I'm a big fan of Hennessey, he's arguably been our best goalkeeper since Neville Southall, but I think the lack of game time was showing a little bit in the Azerbaijan game. I think Palace only have 3 games before the international break, it's unlikely Hennessey will play in any of them.
Danny Ward also hasn't been playing, but perhaps he is naturally more comfortable passing it out of the back? Leicester also have a Carabao Cup game, which hopefully Ward will play.
Adam Davies played for Stoke's u23s last night, so maybe they're preparing him for the number 1 shirt for Stoke's first team? They have 5 fixtures before the international break.
I would probably stick with Hennessey for continuity reasons, and he rarely lets us down. But I'd be tempted to gamble a little bit and give Ward his chance. It's a real shame that none of our main goalkeepers are playing for their clubs at the moment.

And Ward knows what it takes to beat Slovakia in a high pressure game. Something of a good luck charm from Bordeaux?

Had an absolute howler tonight, far worse than hennessey's on sunday. Those with the anti hennessey agenda won't be happy!

This is what the Press Association are reporting, who aren't known for hyperbole.

Danny Ward on your telly soon... Good to hear. Thought he was injured though, suffering from splinters in his backside.

No posts on this thread since January! Shows how inactive he's been at club level
Anyway - he starts tonight vs Arsenal!

Well they're out of the League Cup, so that's him done until January. If he was playing regularly, even in the Championship, he'd be in with a shout of taking our number one jersey, but he seems happy enough to just sit on the bench in what should be the prime years of his career.
His last league game was the Championship play-off final for Huddersfield, in May 2017.

Ward's surely dropped down to third choice at best now for us. Adam Davies seems to be #1 at Stoke now and is playing well by all accounts, so should definitely be back-up for us at least, and should be given the start in the friendly next month.

I agree he is wasted & clearly has talent. But he isn't in his prime yet. Keepers normally have their prime years from late 20s onwards. So I'd say he's just going to be hitting his prime years over these next two seasons
Realistically Wayne does so well for us whether he's playing or not that it's tricky for Ward. Wayne looks on course to be our keeper for at least another WC campaign. I'd expect that to be his last. Whilst Ward is definitely wasting his talent, I think as long as he gets regular time by the 22/23 season he will be ready to step in and become our regular

Looks like Danny Ward could get some games for Leicester following the international break. Danish COVID-19 rules will require UK based Danish players to have a 14 day quarantine upon returning to the country from international break. This includes, of course, Kasper Schmeichel www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54858614

Kasper Schmeichel got knocked out in a collision against Iceland, and was subbed at half-time, so there's every chance Danny Ward could play next sunday against Liverpool at Anfield.
Did well today too.
