Oh dear. Leipzig a franchise club barely 10 years old hated throughout Germany. But finished 3rd in the Bundesliga. Unfortunately as Welsh fans we'll have to put our morals on hold and hope they do well with Ampadu running their midfield.

I hope it goes well for him. Any potential negative publicity might concern me, however this is a Champions League side. The experience will be invaluable in developing him further.

This is insane. They have a legit chance of winning the league next season. They were still in with a chance with two games to go last season and now with no robben if they don't get Bale.....Could happen

I don't know much about rb leipzig, other than they're one of the best sides in the league. So i'm slightly concerned he won't get the minutes he needs. You'd think chelsea have had some assurances that he will play, if not then there might be an issue

He's only 18 and plays in a position where players mature later so loads of time.

My guess would be that loads of clubs were interested, and Chelsea would have decided to loan him out to the best team that assured him game time. Most of Chelsea's loanees get game time when they are loaned out.

I don't want to sound negative... but there was a big ho-ha about Liverpool getting assurances and even penalty clauses in Ben Woodburn's loan to United... Good move, if he indeed gets to play

Bankrolled vanity project that will hopefully win sweet fa.

I'd say Salford times ten, maybe a hundred haha.

An interesting point to make about Leipzig though is that before they were promoted, the Bundesliga had no team from the former East Germany. As far as I understand it most of the money spent by the German FA was in the west, and the east Germany was underfunded. I think this underfunding lead the push for funding for an East German team to represent that part of the country, and as a result Leipzig were born.

Their stadium is in the old West Berlin. They have prominent support from East Berlin but their supporters are based all over the city.

Just listened to a german football expert saying that Ampadu should get plenty of games at Leipzig and that he's in the right club for his development.

Anyone know why Ethan didn't feature in the Villa match yesterday?
With Matty Smith only on the bench for QPR yesterday - I am a little worried ;-(

With Upamecano possibly moving to Arsenal, things look very bright for Ethan at Leipzig.
