Thanks, as always, zenith I understand this means the squad is down to 24 players, now that Ryan indicated George Thomas is out (at least v Denmark)? Any indications who else will be dropped by midnight tonight?

Any indications who else will be dropped by midnight tonight? As you said, George Thomas will definitely be out. He was training on his own this morning, just doing light running around the pitch with the fitness coach. I'm assuming the other will be Dan James. My guess for the 23 is this - Keepers: Hennessey, Ward, Davies Defenders: Williams, Chester, Gunter, Dummett, C Roberts, Lawrence, Lockyer, Freeman Midfielders: Ramsey, Allen, King, Ampadu, Smith, Brooks, Wilson Forwards: Bale, Vokes, Lawrence, T Roberts, Woodburn Or to look at it this way: Hennessey (Ward, Davies) C Roberts (Gunter) Williams (Lockyer) Chester (Lawrence) Dummett (Freeman) Allen (Ampadu, King) Ramsey (Smith) Bale (Woodburn) Brooks (Lawrence, Woodburn) Wilson (Lawrence) T Roberts (Vokes)

He's been on fire for the swans recently. Woodburn is the player I'd drop to bring it down to 23.

Alright lads. An Irish fan here! I come in peace haha. Just wondering did anyone while in Aarhus find anywhere selling match day pin badges? And if ya did could you point out where or roughly where. Sorry this is your Denmark home thread, couldn’t find the away thread. Cheers guys. I try and pickup a pin badge whilst away and didn’t see any. We have a usual badge seller, “Billy the Badge” and didn’t see him either! It’s much smaller than Copenhagen so not very touristy (despite having a few American cruise ships in town who thought we were the players!) I liked it there though, compact city, plenty of bars and ground walking distance away. Billy and his knock off bucket hats! Does his budget stretch to away games? He's too tight for that surely?!

Amazing to think that just over 12 months ago we thought Ben Woodburn was the second coming. 12 months on and he's probably not in the top 5 exciting prospects.

Don't take me wrong, I was really impressed by James' runs and ball control. But Ben has already shown that he can make a difference.
(If the choice was mine, I'd put Gwion in there, ahead of both of them.)

The biggest bonus for us tomorrow is Denmark are without their captain Simon Kjaer, who plays in just about every game for Denmark.
This is the first game he's missed since a 1-1 draw at home to Germany.
With us having a full strength attack, you have to fancy us to score, especially at home.
If we stop Eriksen and nullify his threat successfully, I believe we will win the game 1-0 or 2-0.
-----
Just a quick one on Eriksen as well, he's won 83 caps and scored 25 goals for Denmark - and he's only 26, superb record for a midfielder.

Going for two in a row with my lineup predition...
Hennessey
Roberts Chester Williams Dummett
Ampadu Allen
Brooks Ramsey Lawrence
Bale
I think Lawrence will shade it over Wilson as I think Wilson's qualities are slightly too similar to Bale and Brooks, and Lawrence provides more balance to our forward line.

I would start
Hennessey Roberts Dummett Williams Chester
Ampadu Allen Ramsey
Bale Brooks Vokes
Bale and Brooks going down the wings crossing for Vokes and the arriving Ramsey.
Plenty of options on bench

He is listed on the UEFA site in players not in the squad, along with George Thomas.

For me, Lawrence is more similar to Bale in that he's capable of the spectacular with long-bursting runs and long-range efforts, but produces them far less often. Wilson is slightly more technical and I think he's the better footballer (in comparison to Lawrence, not Bale!). I would go for Hennessey Roberts Chester Williams Dummett Smith Allen Ramsey Brooks Ramsey Bale

Does anyone know how many Denmark are bringing? Haven't seen any in the city center so far today (as far as I know)

The initial talk was of 600, but they only took 400 to the World Cup ...

Thanks to zenith and Dragon soccer
Wales 23 tonight's squad numbers :
1 Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace) 12 Danny Ward (Leicester) 21 Adam Davies (Barnsley). Defenders: 2 Chris Gunter (Reading) 14 Connor Roberts (Swansea City) 5 James Chester (Aston Villa) 6 Ashley Williams (Stoke City) 4 Paul Dummett (Newcastle United) 15 Ethan Ampadu (Chelsea) 20 Tom Lockyer (Bristol Rovers) 3 James Lawrence (Anderlecht) Midfielders: 7 Joe Allen (Stoke City) 23 Matthew Smith (Manchester City - loan FC Twente) 10 Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) 8 Andy King (Leicester City) 18 Harry Wilson (Liverpool - loan Derby) 19 David Brooks (Bournemouth) 13 Daniel James (Swansea City) Strikers: 17 Tom Lawrence (Derby) 16 Ben Woodburn (Liverpool - loan Sheffield Utd) 9 Sam Vokes (Burnley) 11 Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) 22 Tyler Roberts (Leeds United).
PS Can the FAW please note that the "7" on Lawrences' back if far too similar to a "1" and that must strike fear into the opposition thinking that there are two Gareth Bales on the field ... Not to mention confusing our own fans!

Unbelievable when you think about it. We would have taken far more than that, with a lower population. Iceland probably took more. I don't get it? Their team is playing well, getting good results, there should be more of a buzz.

Asked a few Danish fans in Aarhus if they were coming over to Wales and you'd swear I'd asked them if they were going to the moon. UPDATE! Lady in Denmark top spotted in the Head of Steam! Still seen more Tongans though.

I would go for Hennessey Roberts Chester Williams Dummett Smith Allen Ramsey Brooks Ramsey Bale For me virtue of Lawrence being right footed, he offers us different angles/lanes of attack. Wilson is similar to Brooks in that they both occupy similar pockets of space, I see both as no. 10's who can also play out wide. Wilson is similar to Bale again in that they are both left footed and have match winning qualities. But whilst Bale is on the pitch Wilson won't be on set pieces, which means he won't necessarily be offering us that threat. I agree with you that Wilson is more technically proficient, and I think he'll develop into a better player than Lawrence. But especially with the rotation of the forwards that we use, I think having 3 left footed players who like to operate in similar spaces would lead to a bit less fluidity. That's my thinking anyway.

Giggs line ups always surprise me.
Hennessey, Roberts, Chester, Williams, Dummett, Allen, Lawrence, Ramsey, Brooks, Bale, Lawrence.
There’ll be someone in there I wasn’t expecting, unless the surprise is there’ll be nothing surprising.
