FSF saying on Twitter that they only expect the Danes to bring around 600 over ;-) I could be wrong.....but from memory i think that's the sort of numbers they took to the World Cup!!!

That said, even the Belgians only had 350 official tickets sold up until their quarter final! I blame the media for making Russia un-sexy ;-(

It'll be a mad dash back down to Cardiff from Nottingham for me, is there anywhere secure at Cardiff Central I can leave a bag? If its just a place to leave your bag whilst you are watching the game that you need, you can leave it in my car which will be parked outside gate 2 if that any help ? Its all sorted now, thanks for the offer though!

Is this game sold out yet? Just looked at FAW site, still some left, only pairs appear to be available in block 123 - 124.

Why oh why oh why ;-(

Am sure will be a sell out closer to the match date, but I thought all tickets would be gone by now, especially as we are topping the group. I

I might be missing something very obvious so apologies if that's the case. Being someone who travels down to all the home matches from North Wales, I always wonder why the ground isn't almost sole out by Cardiff fans alone. There must be high number that don't follow tha national side

Welsh national team football are a massive 2nd or 3rd to Liverpool, Man Utd to a lot of South Walians. They love watching England to see if their boys are playing well. They hate Wales because of history of failure.

Look at the snooker player Mark Williams tweets a few years ago when England were playing. ‘Bring on the Liverpool boys’.

With the exception of a few hundred tickets in the Family Stand & some in the top tier, the game is as good as sold out. The majority of people who have bought the tickets will either be from Cardiff & it’s surrounds &/or they will be Cardiff City fans. I have read some fairly questionable proclamations on this forum, but the one that maintains that Cardiff fans don’t support Wales easily tops the list. You can’t have watched Wales away at any point in the last 30 odd years to even countenance such a claim.
Sorry if this destroys your narrative.

Met plenty of Cardiff home and away. My question is why Cardiff as a city doesn't sell out home games alone

But if you look at South Wales population you could even ask the question why Cardiff City don’t have more fans from South Wales. There should be a love affair with the Welsh national team after their escapades in France. There’s not!!! I also think Wales is a borderline 2nd world country. People don’t have the cash to go to games.

Much more interest in the national rugby team due to history and past success. About 60,000 tickets are sold to watch a 2nd/3rd string side play a tier 2 rugby nation every November, as well as 60,000-70,000 for 3 other games every November, at extortionate prices.
Strange relationship between South Wales people and football. Love the Premier League but apprehensive about being fully committed to the national team. The reason why, difficult to say but as I mentioned above, most likely because we've been shit a lot of the time and people are scared of commitment as we could be shite again at the flick of a switch. Rugby team will always be competitive due to the limited amount of competition at the top level.

Spot on!!! Lots of event goers with the WRU national games though. They don’t watch the regions though Yet more people watch Cardiff/Swansea at home every weekend than the regions put together? True. So the average person likes the event at the millennium stadium, or a premier league game because sky sports has brainwashed them to believe it is the dogs bollocks. Unfortunately they don't see Wales vs Denmark at a 30,000 stadium as an event. A lot of people probably don't even know or care that the game is happening. I know lots of people who think football is boring. They like watching it when we're winning though. But unless you can guarantee we are going to win, or if it's against one of the big countries, they're not interested.

The national team has a really hardcore group of fans from Gwynedd, but even there I know people from around Dolgellau and Caernarfon that go and watch half a dozen games at old trafford or goodison but 'don't do international football'. Football is undoubtedly more popular than rugby in Wales, but there has always been a fragile attachment to the national side for whatever reason.

I think it is down to success.
The national Rugby team have had relative success compared to the Football team.
I say relative because only a handful of countries play rugby (30 according to the rankings). Football is a truly worldwide sport.
