This discussion about whether he is worthy of a decent Premiership team. The guy is a natural footballer, makes good decisions all the time and is extremely productive. His Forest team mates let him down so much by not being at his level / being on the same wavelength. Even their so called good players don't see his runs a lot of the time I reckon the higher the level he plays, the better he will be, purely because better players will anticipate what he is doing, Agree playing with better players will improve Brennan. i was lucky to see him play yesterday but not one of his better games but also not one of the teams better games. He still was able to provide that killer ball for the main striker at an important time. i have a theory that it struggles on small tight pitches when he plays out wide so he is not able to use is speed as much. He is fortunate that when we play at home he is playing on one of the largest pitches in that division. I do think that the bigger pitches in the prem will help him improve

Yes congrats to Brennan but didn't make team of the season but with Mitro , Solanki and Wilson difficult to break in with what is about 60 Million pounds worth of talent there.

Forest's win tonight puts them 3 points behind Bournemouth in the auto promotion spots, and on equal number of games played. The two sides also still have to play each other in May which will now be a huge game. Will surely be a huge game for Brennan as well - would be miraculous if they managed to snag automatic promotion. Highlights below www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQf-3yOIu94&ab_channel=SkySportsFootball

Forest lost their first four games, drew against Derby and then lost two more before claiming their first win of the season with a surprise win at Huddersfield. Quite simply they've been absolutely outstanding and arguably the best team in the league.

He's ahead of James, for me. Incredible season and everything is pointing toward him taking the baton of star player from Bale when he retires.

Its really hard isn't it?
Do you go all out attack? He is a natural born finisher, makes good decisions 99% of the time and is so productive. OR Do you start with defence from the front? James works so damn hard in defence for the team of over the pitch. The problem is he is far less productive and is out of form at the moment. He has massive credit in the bank for us though doesn't he and has never let us down.
Bale, Ramsey and Wilson will definitely start if fit so one has to consider the best balance

The johnson or James debate is an hard one to call the next fortnight could decide it. James in a position where he never thought he would be at the start of the season possibly playing championship football after relegation. Johnson possibly playing premier league football after Forest worst start in history.
The mind set of these 2 players in really different places, if Johnson is not in starting 11 i would not play him as he is not an impact sub struggles against physical and deep lying defences at present but the kid is only 20. Best impact subs imho would be Moore & Thomas if not in starting 11 playing for free kicks and corners and work something from a set piece.

Dan James is really struggling with his form and certainly his decision-making on and off the ball and I would be very worried about each potential tackle that he makes during the game as he is pretty much a liability in that respect at the moment.
Page will start him for sure but although I have no concern about his work rate off the ball and his ability to pressure and defend from the front, I am concerned about his capacity to be completely reckless in a challenge. The Ukrainians will have noted this and take every opportunity to go down easily and the Scots will be trying to frustrate him, goad him and wind him up to make rash tackles. My other concern would be if it's not going according to plan and he is trying to be Roy Keane in disguise during the game, is whether or not Page can make a decision for the good of the team and doesn't leave it too late to replace him with Johnson.

He's had one red card in his career, and will no doubt be mindful of making similar challenges in his next appearances. So I think the risk is massively exaggerated here

Whilst I’m sure the Scots/Ukrainians will look for every small gain they can find, I’m not sure they’ll target James as a reckless weak link because he’s had his first ever red card in his whole career.

I don't think james would let us down and he would give his all but this is a final and finals are about form, and james is in lousy form and probably very low on confidence,we can talk all day though ,doesn't matter james will start.

I'm not concerned about his red card, I'm only concerned about his confidence because in that Austria game he could have easily scored a hat-trick, should have definitely scored twice but he didn't score once and on one occasion he just lost everything in a moment, pace, composure and technique. Despite all of this, at International level and with Kieffer on the pitch he remains a threat to anyone in the World pretty much, he's the most fouled player in a Wales shirt.

As others have pointed out here and on the Leeds forum (to my surprise actually) it appears that this short fuse wasn’t out of character for him at all. If they did their research they will realise he can be “got at” and goaded into a dodgy challenge. It’s perhaps not good enough a reason to drop someone but I’d hope it’s a situation Page keeps an eye on going forward.

The last time we had a player who could score and create goals with ease must have been Rush? It makes no sense to keep a player like that on the bench, especially when Page has the dreadful habit of making changes far too late. 16 Goals and 9 assists makes him one of our top-performing players this season. I'd use James as the impact sub, his pace against tired legs would be devastating and cause panic amongst defenders.

Robinson the Sheffield LB should have been sent off by now, at least 3/4 yellow card fouls on Johnson so far. He's been absolutely battered.

Brennan has been completely anonymous since the start of the second half though, really needs to get involved and offer himself more.
