dan james has practically been abused this passed season with his work load.
He runs & runs for wales then does exactly the same for leeds. Playing upfront on his own for leeds wasnt he?
Hopefully leeds start well next year. Its good brennan johnson is here but James is 24 still with already a lot of experience.

Best thing to come out of NL. We got a lad that can pass the ball into the net. Not a bad skill to have that. Direct runner who glides. Exciting times.

I always thought that Forest would struggle to keep hold of Brennan, despite their promotion, if a big bid came in. However, they’ve just splashed out £17.5m on a striker from the German League which suggests that they mean business.

They're going to be spending big this window - they're going to have to without the amount of players they've lost last season. It's a similar situation that Villa were in, in 19/20 and Fulham in 18/19 with so many first team players to replace due to the amount of loans they had.
They've got to replace Brice Samba, Djed Spence, James Garner, Keinan Davis, Zinckernagel, Max Lowe and Figueiredo. It's a lot of bodies they're going to have to bring in, and I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up spending £60-70 million plus overall.

Sounds like a smart signing, someone who could be a bit of a gem given he scored 20 in 40 last season in Germany. Could be good foil for Brennan

Looked at home at this level against a top ten team. Took his non goal well and constantly had defenders on the back foot. Looked knackered towards the end but hardly surprising.

On the whole it was one of those occasions where he wasn’t really in the game although when I’ve seen that happen in the past it’s because he’s been poor on the few times he had the ball and that wasn’t the case today. Whenever Forest were on top, especially in the first half, they were looking for that donkey up front all the time. I’ve no idea why the media were bigging him up because he seemed to be a crap Kieffer Moore to me: big and awkward but rubbish on the ball. All the time they were trying to get it to him it meant Johnson was going without, it was like Bale at Real Madrid at times. After the season Johnson had last season I thought he’d be their main man but it didn’t look the case today. Then the one time they got the ball to him on the front foot facing goal he had the ball in the net. You’d think they’d be trying to do that more often.

West Ham is a tough game & I can see why they were going a bit more direct to Awoniyi. It was very end to end for 90 mins, and I think Brennan will suit other games more
Took his disallowed goal very well, will be on the scoresheet again soon

Didn't do much, to be fair. Decent goal tho.
Neco had another great game - he really looks comfortable in the PL

Fairly quiet, but getting in some good positions as illustrated by being in tue right place for the goal. Should have been played in more often. I’m not impressed with Awoniyi’s passing ability either- rather poor.

Forest have now signed 4 forwards if you count Gibbs-White who's been playing as one of the two furthest forward - Awoniyi, Dennis and now Batshuayi - 3 of them for £20m+. Johnson's certainly going to have to fight for his place now.

Not going to lie, I started to get a bit worried a few signings ago regarding Johnson. And after MORE signings and now having signed Batshuayi, I'm even more concerned.
This has been mental though, surely Forest have broken some record for the amount of signings in one transfer window?
I know they had quite a few players on loan which they lost after going up, but this seems extremely excessive? Plus there's also the risk involved should they go down after one season. Unless there's something built into contracts that they have to take a wage cut if that happened.
Madness nonetheless. I've never seen anyhting like it.

There’s more than an element of gamble about what Forest are doing & like most gambles it probably won’t pay off. Worse case scenario for them is that they continue to struggle, Cooper is sacked, then the new guy wants his own players in. Then they’ve got half a squad they don’t want, but they can’t offload because they’re on massive wages. They then end up back in the Championship with all of their parachute money going on players that aren’t playing. It looks like an accident waiting to happen.

They don't seem to have a defined way of playing. Seeming to alternate between hitting it to the big lad and trying to be more intricate and cultivated through Johnson and Gibbs-White. Their transfer policy seems to only add to this lack of identity and chaotic approach. I expect Johnson will be given time despite the raft of new forwards, he seems to be the one constant in their season so far and has scored and had one disallowed from a small number of chances. Williams will be in and out of the side though if he can't sustain top form.

They're definitely throwing everything at it and seeing what sticks For what it's worth, I think Neco and Johnson are still in their best lineups. This means that both probably won't get overplayed which is a good thing

They've signed so many players that even if they sack Cooper, they have enough player for the next manager to start fresh and play a completely different 11!

Forest defo good enough to stay up. Signed good experienced players alongside talent.
Fulham will probably finish top half. Defo not below 12th.
Bournemouth who knows what will happen.
Villa and Everton should be worried. Maybe even Leicester.

Really well-taken penalty fair play! Weird one, Forest have looked poor first half. If anything, Bournemouth have played the better football, but Forest now look to have the game in the bag thanks to two set pieces
