Think this kid deserves his own thread now. Starts for Wolves against Villa tonight. Only 16 (and apparently Wolves' youngest starter since WW2). He's generally started for Wolves U23s in CM/AM, but according to the below tweet he's starting on the wing tonight. Not quite sure how he's eligible for us but he's played for the U17s. He hasn't signed a professional contract, but by all reports Wolves are desperate to tie him down. Interest from Dortmund and other German clubs might be why he's delaying. He was also named in the Guardian's list of 20 of the best talents at Premier League clubs.

Watched him today. He played on the right of a midfield 4 (5-4-1) at the start but quickly shifted to the left and stayed there for the remainder.
To be honest he wasn't hugely eye catching. A few good touches here and there but nothing spectacular. In his defence, it was an incredibly inexperienced Wolves side who sat deep for the entire game.
Anyway if he does get a game for us, I'm claiming the following chant as my own original work: Second line needs some work but I just wanted to plant my flag before a better lyricist nails it.

So is this guy a may play for Wales at senior level or another country (guessing that's England??),or is he committed to us,just wondering if he had said any thing about his intention really, though obviously he is still very young and its all ifs and maybes, seems a real prospect though.

"A number of English youngsters have been snapped-up by Bundesliga sides recently as they look to snare top talent for cut-price fees.
Jadon Sancho signed for Dortmund from Manchester City for just £8million in 2017 and he has since become a rising star and first team regular for Lucien Favre's men.
Former West Ham prodigy Reece Oxford joined Augsburg for £1.8m last summer, while Leipzig have former Everton youngster Ademola Lookman on their books along with Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu on loan."
Christ I hate the Daily Mail, although in the headline they refer to Campbell as "British" which suggests he won't be playing for England

Not called up for either the U19s or the U21s - anyone know why this might be?

Hopefully just an injury and not a change of allegience.
Do we know what his connection to Wales is yet? Is he a Cymro i'r carn or is he also eligible for England/elsewhere?

Eligible for at least England, but not in any of their squads either. Unless his switch is in the post. From what I recall he was in the u19s March squad. Other 2002 born players are in the squad. A weird one.

From what I’ve seen, I think a Grandparent. Also eligible for at least England, but not in any of their squads either. Unless his switch is in the post. On the bench for Wolves today in the premier league against Leicester. Very bright future this lad, heard good things about his pre season and the new manager is obviously keen, shows it by him being on the bench on the opening day.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he's been selected for any of our recent youth squads? Given how highly rated he is, that suggests to me that he doesn't want to engage with us and is holding out for England.

was named on standby for a Wales U19 squad for a game in Oct 2020. (born in 2002) so he is too old this season for Wales U19s. so is till eligible for this and the next U21 campaign. Eligible for Jamaica and England as well

I think being on a Prem bench should merit a u21 call up tbf. Would be slightly concerned if he isn’t called up.

Seems bizarre to me that he was only on standby for that u19 squad, he's supposed to be very highly rated.

He was out with a bad injury for a while, a stress fracture to his back. But it is a shame he hasn’t been involved for so long. I would love to see him involved with the next u21 squad.
I imagine if he starts getting some minutes and does reasonably well he won’t be far away from the senior squad.

Not included in the U21 squad Unless he’s rejected the call up, that could be a big oversight. 2002 is an awkward birth-year because of the pandemic, but piss-poor really if it was an omission on the coaching set-ups part. He probably has a better than most in the u21 squad chance of making Cymru senior squad appearances.
