19 y.o. Welsh keeper on the bench for Norwich today vs Coventry
Wales U19 international. Has he played for other Welsh age groups? He was also previously at Arsenal academy and a loan spell for Bury Town in non league.
Been on the bench last three games for them. Played 90 mins in their 3-1 loss against Luton in the EFL Cup in September.
Nothing really to write home about. Krul will have recovered and be back in the squad before long.
He is a goalkeeper though, a position where we haven't got that many reinforcements and no one really emerging. One to keep an eye on

Great spot - will keep an eye out. Perhaps a loan next season to a FL club would be good to see?

He's been getting on the bench regardless of Krul's injury, since they've been allowed nine subs. Played a lot for their U23's who have only conceded 9 goals in 9 games this season, with another Welsh youngster Ethen Vaughan also part of that side.
This is what Farke said about him before his debut vs Luton.
“He is a top bloke, a good character and also I like his potential,” said Farke. “He has been training with us for a while and you can see him growing from month to month.
“He is going to be a bit in the spotlight at Luton but I have the feeling he is prepared, otherwise we would not look to play him. For that I am pretty happy that he played well (against Darmstadt). To have a clean sheet and make a good first half save is good for the self-confidence.
He is a confident lad and I am sure he won’t crack under pressure. There is a moment when you have to be thrown into the cold water and you have to swim. We can’t hide him or wrap him in cotton wool. A keeper, especially, has to be strong mentally.
“For me he has a good balance between being humble and wanting to improve and a little bit of that goalkeeper arrogance you need to improve. Yes, he has good chances (to play Luton).”

Came on second half today after McGovern’s injury. Played well by all accounts. 1-1 the score, the goal conceded was a penalty that Zimmerman conceded so not Barden’s fault.

Is he their 2nd choice then or do they have a few injuries?

Is he their 2nd choice then or do they have a few injuries? Third choice to Krul and McGovern. The first couple of games when they had nine subs and everyone was fit, he was managing to get on the bench anyway as one of two sub keepers. They've obviously got other options in the academy, so they obviously value him to be giving him that experience when he wasn't going to be needed. Great for him to get his league debut at such a young age for a keeper, hopefully he can get the next couple.

Clean sheet, Man of the Match, happy days.
You'd think he'd be first choice of what will be a new look U21's side come March.

Strong case for him to be the new number 3 now.

Strong case for him to be the new number 3 now. I'd expect him to be involved with the u21s for a bit first. After all, there's no rush to change a 3rd choice keeper. Before long though I'm sure he'll be involved with the seniors

I'd say he's possibly the fourth best keeper now when all are fully fit, but I'd rather him as the U21's first choice then third choice for the seniors (unless there was a friendly for him to get 45 mins in).

All three keepers don't look like they'll feature much for their respective clubs
Hennessey - injured. Palace have Guita and Butland ahead of him. They also have Stphen Henderson on the books as a cheaper third choice option. His contract is up this year I believe?
Ward - Perennial second choice at Leicester. Doesn't seem to get much of sniff there.
Adam Davies - Injured. Stoke had somewhat of an injury crisis in goal which led to them recalling Joe Burisk from his loan. He's looked good so far, will be harder for Davies to regain #1 spot I think.
We could well go into EURO 2021 with all three keepers not playing a single domestic game in 2021 (very unlikely but not impossible). We don't really have much of choice admittedly but Dan Barden, Owain Fon Williams, Chris Maxwell and Dai Cornell are the other choices which come to mind.

He was fine. Looked weak when crosses came in which I guess is to be expected of a young goalkeeper, didn't do much wrong but was bailed out by the ref from a couple of corners

Interesting that he's getting senior minutes for a club at the top of the Championship. One eye on whether this continues or whether he just gets a couple of games

Kids like this need to get a lot of experience of men's football as otherwise it's a shock to them when it arrives. I saw this lad play in the Victory Shield a few years back. He was very poor tbh. Maybe he has improved but I'm horrified is he's seen as the future of Welsh goalkeeping. Good luck to the lad but, I was not impressed one bit.

If you read the article posted earlier in the thread it says how he was really struggling at one point but has really improved recently. To be starting a Championship game for Norwich at his age he can't be that bad
