I don't think we actually do suffer badly from injuries relative to other countries (scarcely anyone missing for the world cup for instance) but Huggins is one who has been horrendously unfortunate so far in his career.

Of course it's hard to be objective about these things, but I struggle to think of any other nation who have had so many key players lose large chunks of their careers to injury. Have the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Modric or Mbappe been plagued with injuries in the same way as Bale and Ramsey? I think not.

Ronaldo over 200 caps, Modric and Messi over 170, compared to Bale's 111 and Ramsey's 84 and Joe Allen's 74. Mbappe already has 75.
Add in that Bale, Ramsey and Allen were only partially fit on numerous occasions then it's fair to conclude that we've been cursed.

I'm gutted for him. Looked like he was having a really good season.
Regarding injuries, Sam Allardyce had success by ensuring players over 30 could play regularly. We've got such a small talent pool, it's worth doing some research to see how we can best manage injuries big and small.

Ronaldo/Modric/Messi cap totals are so high because their nations qualify for every tournament. If we never qualified for Euro 2016/2020 or WC 2022 then Bale would never have reached 100 Joe Allen's total is surprisingly low, although he started getting into the first XI for us later than people realise, and then had quite a few injuries. Rambo will scrape 100 caps in my opinion, which again would be remarkable given his injury early in his career

I think at least half of the problem for us has been having half fit players. I mean Bale was probably in his prime for one season prior to his move to Madrid and that's it. Did Arsenal get a complete season of fully fit Ramsey?

I wonder how Huggins is doing with the injury? Looks a good player when fit.
