For me personally I’ll be living in Wales for the first time in 7 years so I’m happy with Belgium Again and Netherlands as it could be a great bus trip

Pointless question i guess but i half expected us to get the germans, seems ages since we played them in a competitive game, remember the ian rush goal and giggs coming on as a sub to make his debut in a 4-1 defeat in the return game, i am guessing i have got that totally wrong and it wasn't in the same qualifiying group but i honestly can't remember and am to lazy to look it up ,think i am totally wrong about all this but we haven't played them for awhile have we? like i said pointless question and that is what forums are for after all

Thankfully we didn't get England, so we can just enjoy the league with no pressure or expectations. Poland are no great shakes if Lewandowski doesn't play. The World Cup Play offs are the games that really matter.

If I remember correctly, we lost 2-0 at home after a decent performance - one of Ramsey's first games for us. And then we managed a 0-0 draw in Dusseldorf after they had already topped the group

Love our draw. If there was no corona, I would have been over the moon with the ROI draw (Ukraine and Armenia!) Happy travels, oscardelta !

I do find the scotland v irish as pretty interesting, mostly because the irish seemed to drag us down into a dogfight that played to their level,be interesting how the scots deal with them now they are clearly better than they have been for awhile, guessing two 0-0 or 1-0 nill either way, bloody irish

Do uefa sort the fixtures or the nations thrash it out between themselves?

We drew East and West Germany (very convenient when the countries merged) for the Euro 92 qualifiers. 1-0 at the old National Stadium, Ian Rush as you mentioned. The return at Nuremberg was my first Wales away game. Good trip but a footballing lesson. Incidentally, Belgium were also in the group and we beat them 3-1 at home in a very entertaining game.

I quite like this draw, it's getting weird with Belgium now, we are playing the best side in the World more than anybody else and to be honest we nearly always give them a very good game, I never thought I'd be saying that about Wales when I was sat on a school bus getting it ripped out of me after the 5-0 Georgia defeat! I like having Poland and Netherlands, I feel like we can cause them both a lot of problems, we just need the key players fit and the emerging ones to keep on progressing. I'm disturbingly optimistic about this!

Looking at the likely away locations: Poland - all games in Warsaw Netherlands - Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and other smaller venues Belgium - almost all in Brussels In the last NL campaign: Poland played in Chorzow, Wroclaw & Gdansk. Netherlands played all in Amsterdam.

That throws a spanner in the works, would have been nice and easy if all games were in Warsaw like the WC qualifiers.

Is it just me that can’t get excited by this draw. Feels like one big yawn especially with Belgium for the 900th time in the past few years.

8 games against the Netherlands in our history, 8 losses. Time to make history?
That is an excellent draw, I think we've drawn the best possible opponents from all 3 pots and the away days look very doable. I've been meaning to visit Warsaw so I'm very excited about that one in particular.
Belgium - We've shown time and time again that we're capable of a result against these. The alternatives were the European Champions, the best team (on paper) in the world or Spain who battered us the last time we faced them.
Netherlands - Portugal and Germany have better teams on paper and we have struggled against Denmark in recent years.
Poland - Only Croatia have a comparable team on paper but I believe they're still a better team than Poland.

Would have preferred someone else other than Belgium (maybe not Italy) but I really quite like it. From an away travel perspective it's very exciting. All pretty close games, easily accessible and should be cheap flights over as well. Think it's a group that will allow us to prove how far we've come as we've got a chance of causing some decent upsets in that group. Proved we can do it with Belgium time and again, got a great chance against an out of sorts Netherlands and Poland. If it was France, Germany, England I probably would have been accepting relegation already.

Read from Dale Johnson on Twitter that 1st and 2nd in the group and the best 3 third place teams are likely to be seeded for the Euro 2024 draw. Could be massive in how easy we make Euro 2024 qualification for ourselves.
I think a realistic aim should be finishing as one of the best third place teams or possibly 2nd. Important we stay in league A.

Do the Polaks play in Warsaw? Last Nations League was split between Gdańsk, Wroclaw and Chorzow. That was against better opposition than us so don’t think we’ll be playing in Warsaw.

Ref just waived away protests.

I’d love Gdańsk personally.

Went to both matches and it was Nuremburg in the reverse game. Saunders also got sent off and do you remember the right back, was it McGuire who was playing for Portsmouth at the time - had a stinker.
