Loved to hear it and almost everyone joining in.
Far cry from Wrexham games where quite a few moan non stop about it being played pre match.

Best bit was it started organically by one group of fans toward the back then spread through the Canton. The FAW reacted to this quickly and played it after the game. Spine tingling.

Did the fans sing the original version or the watered down revised version with the Margaret Thatcher verse changed?

Well done to whoever runs it. Think they've got the music prematch spot on now too. The light show really gets things going.

It was great to hear it from the stands and on the speakers at the end.
Would also be nice to hear some more Welsh language songs pre-kick off as well, but Yma o Hyd is iconic, and a bit of a war-cry.
Great stuff.

Being played pre match at Cardiff games as well now, mainly Welsh songs down there now (Welsh language/performers that is)
I wonder if Dafydd Iwan will be invoicing for royalties?

'Calon Lan' is a great one too; quite a few non-Welsh speaking friends have told me that they would like to mug up on the words of this much-loved hymn. Used to be sung at rugby matches, but has now become much more associated with football, pre-match at pubs etc, in recent years (since Euro 2016 at least, if not before).
Why then not play it as well over the tannoy beforehand, to build on what I agree is already a good stadium vibe ahead of the 90 minutes on match days?

Early memories for me as a child were watching Wales in a full Millennium Stadium (2004 campaign), with Yma O Hyd, Delilah and Can't Take My Eyes Off You being played pre-match, as well as entertainment being provided by one of the top Welsh bands.
I remember the Manics played before the Italy game, and I think Super Furry Animals might have played before the Azerbaijan game. Am I right in saying Catatonia played before one as well?

It would be great if they can make a proper event of it before the play-off next year. Get Daf Iwan to sing on the pitch before KO, the Alarm can do their song half time or something.

From my fading memory I think Dafydd Iwan may have sung as well before the Italy game, certainly John Charles was on the pitch for an ovation. The one really positive for me has been the acapella anthem and the ditching of celebrities / opera singers leading the anthem.

Think Feeder might've played before the Finland game in that '04 campaign? My Dad reckoned they might have but he's not 100%.

GLC's iconic performance pre-England in 2005 (?) being disgracefully overlooked in this thread I recently had a tour around the Principality and the guide was listing off all the Welsh acts that had played there and I looked into the centre circle and drifted off for a split second...........this was amazing www.youtube.com/watch?v=sADYH6_FVNg

First time in a while on Tuesday Calon Lan didn't get an outing. If it did certainly didn't reach my end of the Canton.
Any clips of Yma o Hyd just before the end, before the tannoy picked it up after the final whistle? Sounded great then, feel the tannoy drowned the crowd out a bit at the end.
Now if only we can get Myfanwy going...

Would love for Yma O Hyd to start as the players start to wait in the tunnel, all of us belting that out while the players can hear it would be amazing
And I would like for the crowd to carry it rather than have a loud backing track. Maybe start the backing track to cue us in, similar to the anthem, and then cut the track off and let us do the verse. Make it a thing
