Mooney specifically mentioned in feast of football podcast that the talent spotters who find the anglos etc need to start hunting for keepers. so that is obviously an area of concern with the FAW. Lewis Webb, at Swansea but from Newport, has gone on loan to a Dublin club Shelbourne, a league developing young GKs Mooney was raving about in the podcast, so hopefully he can do well and be the next senior goalie.

Barden looked like the next prime candidate for us before his diagnosis. Here's hoping he's able to bounce back and fully recover and get back into senior football. I think he can overtake King and maybe Davies in the next few years

It’s actually good to hear that they acknowledge the current situation to prevent being bitten on the arse by it.

You would have to hope though that being a young pro athlete he’s got the best chance of anyone of coming back and having a top career. He was certainly looking promising before he got the diagnosis.

Does anyone know how many Austria ended up selling?

Does anyone know how many Austria ended up selling? Was quoted they could have 1800 but extra 1000 went on sale to Wales fans, so with segregation it's probably about 500.

So instead of giving them tickets we sold those tickets to home fans instead? So there don’t seem to be rules on the percentage of the stadium size you have to put aside for away fans?

So there don’t seem to be rules on the percentage of the stadium size you have to put aside for away fans? The rule is 5% of the stadium, which has to include some 'Cat 1' tickets which is why there's some away fans in the Grandstand. So for the CCS that's about 1650. They couldn't have shifted all of them so returned them and that was the extra 1k on sale to Wales fans last week.

Great news. I’ve done my back in. Last time this happened was the week before we last played Austria in Cardiff

He may be the answer to our goalkeeping troubles after all, not that that's the most important thing in this situation of course!

It’s been quiet about Barden but he’s less high profile. Surprised we haven’t heard a bit more about Brooks though. But yeah, good to have some good news for a chance in the current times. Good luck to the lad. He’ll be knocking on the door of the squads soon and possibly even starting if he can get back to where he was given he was making starts for Norwich. He seems a great prospect but he hasn’t even got much competition at the moment with the way Ward is languishing Good news!

Great news to see Barden back!
Regarding Brooks, it's worth pointing out that Barden had a much more treatable and less complex cancer than Brooks. They say no news is good news, but I'm pretty concerned for Brooksy. Hope we hear something positive about him soon, miss his flair.

We've already had positive news regarding David Brooks, from him and Scott Parker. Brooks said he's progressing well at the turn of the year with Parker saying they are seeing more and more of him around the training ground with him making progress.

At the end of the day, being brutally honest about it, he’s young, it was caught early and he’s a very high value asset and will get the best treatment available so I think it’s fair to assume that whilst we haven’t heard anything he is in a good place to beat it and make a comeback.

David Brooks on progress being good. Ah I do recall that now, I thought you were suggesting there something more concrete had been announced and I’d missed it. I guess you can’t put timescales on this so we’ll have to wait and see how it pans out

Have a soft spot for FC. Koln (Cologne) having seen a game there about a decade ago, Ljubicic is the perfect kind of swiss-army knife creative midfielder that they would surely love having off the bench (basically what we would love for Woodburn to have turned into by now). Grillitsch is a good player too.
