Happy with that, shame about Turkey but we should be confident going into this Especially as Faroe Islands were next out of the hat haha

It was going well until Turkey, but we can't feel too hard done by drawing Croatia and Armenia. Hoping Tukrey and Armenia is a highly charged match. Forget what can happen away to Turkey and Croatia, we win our home games we qualify.

Croatia, Cymru, Armenia, Turkey, Latvia
Pretty chuffed with that tbh. Croatia one of the better pulls from the top pot, Armenia very kind from pot 3. Would have been a lot to ask to avoid any of the dodgy pot 3/4 teams, but Turkey we have beaten recently so I'm not too afraid of them - they must be in pot 4 for a reason too. Latvia is great too, just wanted to avoid N.I & Slovakia from that pot. Overall I think that's a very nice group and we should be aiming for 2nd. Let's hope the fixtures fall kindly now
Glad to see England getting a tough draw too, Ukraine could easily challenge them for 2nd, and Italy seem to have their number. N.Macedonia a banana skin too

Avoided the big hitters from pot 1 and 3, for all the talk of Turkey they just lost against the Faroe Islands and drew at home to Luxembourg. We also know we can beat them even in a highly charged, partisan atmosphere. Could have been better of course, but I'd rather what we got than what Scotland & England got

Think that’s a great draw, especially away wise but obviously Turkey isn’t ideal from a footballing perspective but we’ve got a great chance from here.

Can people who went to Azerbaijan go to Armenia? I know one of those countries is funny about letting in people who have visited the other

Can people who went to Azerbaijan go to Armenia? I know one of those countries is funny about letting in people who have visited the other Many years ago we did it the other way round, and certainly the Azerbaijani authorities were not overly impressed with the Armenian passport stamp but we got in. It appears, if you delve behind headline news, whilst Putin's back is turned in Ukraine tensions between Armenia / Azerbaijan have flared up again with some sporadic fighting.

Let's hope the Croatians choose a location where more than a handful of us can go it. Just spent few days in Split, would love it to be there. Anyone know when the fixtures are out?

We won’t have a friendly in June. Each side has 2 free match days and obv Croatia have them in June to play UNL finals.

We should finish in the top 2. However, if we don't, looking at the groups we would be very unlucky not to get a play-off place via the Nations League, as difficult to see 4 other League A Nation's League teams not qualifying automatically.

This will be our first competitive fixture ever against Latvia.
One friendly back in 2004 at Skonta Riga's ground and that's your lot. A 2-0 win, from memory John Hartson got one but can't recall the other scorer.
For anyone going a trip to and a go on the downhill Bob track at Sigulda is a must.(if it is still in operation)

Mate of mine just pointed out (although I disagree) that Latvia , Lithuania and Estonia could end up playing in neutral venues in the West

Not necessarily. The group will still need to be playing matches in the June dates. We will certainly have qualifier at least in June. Likely I would think we will 3 windows with 2 games, and 2 with 1. Let’s hope the the one gamers involve the longest trips.

Looking at the draw, the only team I’d swap places with are the Czechs in group E. There are a lot of teams in transition at the moment and it’s really difficult to know what to expect from Croatia and Turkey.

From the Away Locations thread these are the stadium capacities and possible locations:
Croatia - Multiple locations. Stadion Maksimir, Zagreb (35,123), Stadion Gradski Vrt, Osijek (17,061); Stadion Poljud, Split (34,198) and Stadion Rujevica, Rijeka (8,279). The latter was probably just for the COVID limited games though.
Armenia - Republican Stadium, Yerevan (14,403) - All games.
Turkey- Usually play in Istanbul at any of the big stadiums, Atatürk Olympic Stadium (75,145); Vodafone Park (42,590); Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium (47,834) or Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium (17,156). One NL game against Lithuania played at Gürsel Aksel Stadium, Izmir (20,040)
Latvia - Mainly Daugava Stadium, Riga (10,461), sometimes Skonto Stadium, Riga (8,087).
