I thought you had to win tickets? Seemed that the only way to get tickets was to either win them through a Morrisons comp or a Coca Cola Instagram one, both of which I missed. However, I messaged Coke who sent me 3 tickets!

Saw this headline, scrolled down to Wales and shit myself....
World Cup injury watch: Diogo Jota, Richarlison, Reece James, Paul Pogba - Who's out? Who's a doubt?
The Qatar 2022 World Cup starts on 20 November - with a unique winter build-up meaning many of the world's top stars playing club football right up until a week before the tournament starts.
England already have their own defensive worries and a packed domestic schedule will surely mean further scares for manager Gareth Southgate, with Wales boss Rob Page also closely monitoring his squad.
But which other countries have real worries over the fitness of their key men?
BBC Sport attempts to keep track....
England Few thought the right-back position would be an area of concern for Southgate, especially given the plethora of options he's historically had at his disposal. However, that has all changed in recent weeks.
ENGLAND Reece James: a knee injury picked up against AC Milan leaves the Chelsea man a major doubt for the tournament.
Kyle Walker: The Manchester City defender was left with six weeks to recover his fitness after groin surgery - but says he is "confident" of making the World Cup squad
John Stones and Harry Maguire: Manchester City's Stones and Manchester United's Maguire have both not played since suffering hamstring injuries in the 3-3 Nations League draw with Germany last month.
Kalvin Phillips: The Manchester City midfielder is a major doubt after a dislocated shoulder suffered in September.
Wales Gareth Bale should be fit to lead Wales' first World Cup campaign in 64 years despite appearing sparingly for Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC.
Tom Lawrence: The Dragons will probably be without the Rangers forward in the Gulf state after he aggravated a knee injury that could sideline him until December.
Joe Allen: The veteran midfielder has not played for Swansea in more than a month after going down with a hamstring problem.
France Didier Deschamps' defending champions have arguably the largest injury list - from an admittedly frighteningly strong squad - of any country heading into the four-week event.
Paul Pogba: The former Manchester United midfielder has not played since returning to Juventus this summer following knee surgery.
N'Golo Kante: The defensive midfielder could be out for as long as three months after a relapse of a hamstring problem and is all but certain to miss the tournament.
Wesley Fofana: Kante's Chelsea team-mate limped off during the 3-0 Champions League home win over AC Milan and is unlikely to play for the Blues before the World Cup.
Lucas Hernandez: The Bayern Munich utility man injured his groin in a Champions League victory over Barcelona last month, although his agent has claimed he will return before the end of October.
Boubacar Kamara: The 22-year-old tore knee ligaments just eight matches into his Aston Villa career and will be out until after the World Cup.
Brazil One Premier League player remains a major doubt for a Brazil side looking to lift the World Cup for the first time since 2002, but injured Richarlison is now likely to compete.
Richarlison: The Tottenham forward was seen on crutches after suffering a calf injury in Spurs' 2-0 win over Everton on 15 October, but Tottenham boss Antonio Conte says the Brazil forward should be available for the World Cup following a scan.
Richarlison added on Twitter: "Guys, thank God it was just a big scare!! Two weeks and I'll be back! Thank you for the messages and affection."
Arthur Melo: Liverpool's on-loan Juventus midfielder was not so upbeat on social media, saying he expects a thigh injury to keep him out of contention for a place on the plane to Qatar.
Portugal Manager Fernando Santos could be deprived of the services of four important players for their Group H campaign against Ghana, South Korea and Uruguay.
Diogo Jota: The Liverpool forward will miss the World Cup after he was taken off on a stretcher with a thigh injury in added time of their 1-0 Premier League win over Manchester City on 18 October.
Pedro Neto: Wolves said the 22-year-old striker will miss the World Cup after an ankle injury sustained against West Ham on 1 October left him requiring surgery.
Pepe and Nuno Mendes: Porto expect 39-year-old Pepe to miss several games with a sprained knee, while fellow defender Mendes will be out for a few weeks with a muscle issue.
Germany The Germans' main worries centre around a Die Mannschaft stalwart with 48 caps and 15 international goals to his name and a Bayern Munich forward in good form.
Marco Reus: The 33-year-old Borussia Dortmund skipper damaged ankle ligaments in September. An ankle injury also kept him out of Germany's World Cup triumph in Brazil in 2014.
Leroy Sane: The 26-year-old tore his left thigh muscle during Bayern Munich's 5-0 win over Freiburg on Sunday. The club has not given a timeframe for Sane's recovery, only saying they will be without the forward "for the time being."
Netherlands The Netherlands, a potential last-16 opponent for England or Wales, will also be missing an experienced international operator.
Georginio Wijnaldum: The 31-year-old former Liverpool midfielder, capped 86 times, suffered a fractured tibia in his right leg after just playing one game on loan at Roma.
Argentina The 2014 runners-up will also have to cope without a Roma man.
Paulo Dybala: The 28-year-old will miss the competition after picking up a freak thigh injury while taking a penalty for Jose Mourinho's side in Serie A in early October.
Angel Di Maria: The former Manchester United winger also suffered a thigh injury on Champions League duty for Juventus last week and will be out for three weeks, leaving him in a race against time to be fit.
United States The US, Group B opponents of England and Wales, have two key injuries at either end of the pitch.
Daryl Dike: The West Bromwich Albion striker has been out with a thigh issue since August and it is still unknown whether he will return before the November break.
Miles Robinson: An Achilles tendon tear has ruled out the Atlanta United centre-back.
Mexico Boss Gerardo Martino has huge concerns over two of his top stars, but says he will give both until the very last minute to prove their fitness.
Raul Jimenez: The Wolves forward has not played since 31 August due to a groin injury and is a huge doubt for the tournament.
Jesus Corona: The Sevilla winger broke his leg in August but is recovering ahead of schedule.
Croatia Marcelo Brozovic: The Inter Milan midfielder has not played in almost a month after coming off with a thigh injury during Croatia's Nations League win over Austria in September.
Uruguay Ronald Araujo: Barcelona stated in September the defender would likely miss the tournament due to surgery on a torn thigh muscle that would keep him out for two to three months.
Poland Jakub Moder: The Brighton midfielder will not feature for the Poles in Qatar after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in April.
Canada Atiba Hutchinson: The Canada captain, 39, has not played at all this term for his club side, Turkish outfit, Besiktas, after suffering a bone bruise in pre-season.

Now the squads are out who is everyone tipping to lift the cup? I think Argentina are going to do it, Messi came so close in Brazil but he's going to light the place up and has a better team around him this time

Argentina or Brazil for me, I don't think the stars are quite aligning for the top European sides. France are plagued by a poor manager, Netherlands and Spain lack a top striker and Germany, Belgium and England all looked unconvincing to poor in the nations league.
Uruguay and Denmark are my dark horses.

I'm not as impressed by France's squad as everyone else (might be my own ignorance.) With Pogba and Kante out, their midfield looks very underwhelming for a top nation. Obviously Tchouaméni must be a good player having gone to Real Madrid for about £80m and he starts for them, but from what I can see he's been nothing more than decent so far this season. Then you've got Camavinga, who doesn't make the Madrid first team. Then you have Ligue 1 players in Veretout, who seems to have been in and out of the Marseilles midfield, Guendouzi, who is definitely not a top-class player, and Fofana, who I don't know much about but doesn't look that impressive at a glance.

Agree on France's midfield, Kante will be a big miss. Portugal are looking strong in that department but could a stroppy Ronaldo derail them?
Would like to see Uruguay go deep into the tournament, especially after this squad announcement video:
Denmark can do one

Will always love Uruguay, they are the champions of the underdog and love punching up. If they top their group there's a very good chance of a semi for them, anything is possible from there. Valverde, Nunez and Araujo are all top players

I'd love a South American team to win it, but I think the balance of power has shifted hugely to the European game. One of France, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, England IMO. I just have a feeling it is the Dutch who will take it.
But if it's not us, then Uruguay or Argentina please.

Backup keeper Franco Armani is the only Argentina player playing outside of Europe. Weverton, Éverton, Dani Alves and Pedro are Brazil's players who don't play in Europe. Discount these sides at your peril, their football federations are a lot more 'with it' than they have been in the past and their squads are outstanding. Brazil couldn't even fit Bobby Firmino into their squad! They also have their key players (Messi & Neymar) in banging form.

Does anyone know why a number of countries are playing friendlies, but we haven't bothered?
Could've been a good excuse to get some players who are lacking gametime playing.
Besides Bale and Rambo of course, wrap them up.

I suspect those playing on Monday (Us) didnt think we had enough time. Also some of those that have played have enough players that weren’t playing last weekend in leagues.

The teams playing friendlies are generally the teams in the lowest group letters who kick off in the middle/end of next week and even then it’s mostly reserve sides. The only team I’ve seen play a mostly full strength side is the Swiss so it was interesting to see them get beat 2-0 by ghana. No-one in A and B are playing friendlies so that says something
Edit: Argentina started with a few first teamers as well iirc

Atmosphere where you are?
So a few days to go (I live in England) and houses that are usually bedecked in JJB Sports advertising, sorry England flags have nothing out so far. Even the city centre pubs not really putting on much of a show, a couple with bunting and that is about it.
There are two Rainbow pubs in town, one is showing the football, one isn't.
Edit. May not be JJB but I usually see some sports shop have their name on England flags.

As an aside, it was a disaster of an event. Very poorly organised, thousands and thousands of fans unable to get in to the stadium eventually ending up with riot cops being called to quell the unrest. I witnessed padlocked gates being pulled and pushed at with such aggression that the stewards had to open them which of course, led to a stampede. Queue a 12? years old kid being trampelled. Frightening to be honest considering previous disasters.

Appreciate the game was in UAE but perhaps doesn't bode well for the organisation of things in Qatar?

A pretty poor omen for a month of football in the region if police are being deployed due to crap organisation and there is the spectre of over-crowding with all the issues that brings. Hope you managed to get out of there safely. That poor kid 😢. On the plus side must have been great to tick off seeing Messi play, I was surprised they risked him in a warm up game but fair play to Argentina as it would obviously be great for the people who went.

I think it’s a trick missed personally, surely would have made sense to have a very light contact warm up game against a local side rather than go in to a World Cup off the back of a defeat two months ago and one in which we played a scratch side, at that.

I'm still not getting a World Cup vibe at all. Feel as though we're jetting off to the equivalent of that tournament we played in China.
Maybe I'll start feeling it more when it actually starts.

I'm fine thank you. I did have the pleasure of seeing the little magician (he wasn't afraid to get stuck into a tackle BTW). I got to my seat 15 mins after kick off but left 20 mins later (I saw 3 goals though) as the mates I travelled with had kids and it wasn't a pleasant situation for them outside so they chose to leave before it got worse. I couldn't actually get out as the gates were locked so it was only as the dam was breached that I was able to force my way out (with my elbows out!). The kid was fine as a quick thinking lump of a lad who was also waiting to exit stepped in and grabbed him off the floor. This was locally organised (you won't get any negative news in the UAE BTW where it has a direct impact on the Government or large, locally run entity) so I genuinely don't believe that this situation will be mirrored in Qatar. I have been to the same stadium a few times for the FIFA organised Club World Cup and it's superbly organised.

I get that local reporting would be heavily controlled but given it was Argentina and Messi playing I was thinking the world’s media would be there to report on it and for UAE to not be able to stop eg the BBC getting the word out about a nearly serious crowd disaster in the region on the eve of the World Cup.

Just reading that in the fan zones, stadiums and official FIFA locations they’re only taking VISA cards not MasterCard.
I’ve seen this at other tournaments but it wasn’t fully enforced and I read a few weeks back that VISA was the only accepted credit card but took no notice but I’ve just read that this is being fully adhered to in Qatar.
This sh1t show just confirms my decision to stay in Abu Dhabi to be the right one.
What else will they change at the 11th hour once they see thousands of fans singing and having fun on the metro and in the stadium. They won’t like their locals seeing others enjoying themselves in a manner that they’re not used to seeing.
I think that’s the reason they pulled the plug on beers at the stadium. Drinking in hotel bars and restaurants is away from the eyes of the locals and can / will be controlled in the fan zone but once fans are in the stadium it’ll be harder to ‘police’ and I imagine the Qatari hierarchy won’t won’t they’re citizens witnessing people ‘having fun’
Also this ban on beer at the stadiums I think was always planned by the Qataris maybe even FIFA. if they had stated that the stadiums fan zones would before dry prior to fans booking it may have put them off so they waited till the last moment to maximise fans turning up.
