Is anyone else looking at staying in Dubai and flying to Qatar for each of the group matches?

Yes, doing the match day shuttle flights. Dubai seems to be more relaxed with better hotel and restaurant/bar options

Thinking about it (and have a hotel booked just in case) but waiting to get tickets before booking the shuttle flights
There was talk of shuttle coaches before the flights were announced, does anyone know if they'll still be happening and what the likely cost will be?

I mentioned in the other thread we’ve booked a BA package holiday in Dubai all inclusive for the group games plus 3 return flights for the games total cost of less than £2200.👍

Yes definitely gonna stay in either AD or Dubai. Much more relaxed and many more options of bars/restaurants and even good quality all inclusive resorts.

Claire is a lovely lady, Newport girl. I spoke to her at the Wales v Ukraine game. Sounded like she had carried out some extensive research on travel from the UK to the Middle East and from the UAE to Qatar. She had also looked at accommodation options with a lot of non-profit deals for Welsh fans. She is on Linkedin also for anybody that wants to get in touch with her. She is also running an 'Adopt a Welsh Fan' campaign on the 'Clwb Cymru Dubai' Facebook group; "As many of you know, I’m helping the Welsh football fans with arrangements for Qatar 2022. I’m looking for those of us who have spare rooms for my adopt a Welsh fan or fans scheme. Despite my deals, the prices are astronomical for some, especially with the added flydubai commute. Some of those coming aren’t so well off or students etc and I’m looking to help them out as much as possible. Can anyone host please? Diolch! ❤️🏴"

A TOP TIP: For those staying in the UAE, and not limiting yourselves to All-Inclusive, I strongly recommend you get "The Entertainer" while you are here. All UAE residents use this app to keep the cost down and it is a lifesaver, Tourists do not generally know about it. I will cost about 100-130 quid for 12 months (there is a Tourist one but I do not know if you get as much) but its worth it as you will save so much money. One can go around 4 people comfortably. Most likely to have the initial investment back probably in the first morning you are here if you are going to Burj Khaliffa or Atlantis when you are Sight-Seeing. App includes Buy1Get1 on almost anything including Main Course Meals, Attractions, Desert Safari, Golf, Theme Parks etc, 25% of total bill at restaurants (including High End ones), and Buy 2 Get 2 Drinks Section under the "Cheers' part. www.theentertainerme.com/en-ae/dubai-n-emirates

I booked return flight from cardiff to dubai, an airbnb for 11 nights and three shuttle flights a few weeks ago. Staying in Dubai, Anu Dhabi or even Bahrain is the better option IMO, more social options. Flight 640, Airbnb 1400 (nice apartment on the beach, family member sharing with me so 700 each) 3 x shuttle flights 660. Total £2000, I am happy with thaat. In group 1 for tickets

Claire Hopkins has said they are making several dedicated Red Wall fanzones plus they have several dedicated “Welsh bars/pubs” in Dubai for the entire period of the Workd Cup. Also lots of other Welsh events and Welsh things planned in Dubai.

Looking at shuttle flights after the first game, which is likely to finish at midnight. Anyone know how long it’s likely to be to get to airport? There’s a flight at 1:35, back to Dubai, but seems tight!

There was something in the small print about arriving at the airport 3 hours (!) before departure, but I reckon that's just for long haul flights with baggage etc. 01:35 might be tight if the match ends at midnight.

Yep booked the 4am flight for both the USA game and the England game. No point travelling all that way to leave early from the match.

We're staying in the doubletree Hilton Marjan Island for 2 weeks so will be looking to share transport for the shuttle flights if anyone is interested, I may be hiring a car to do the journeys rather than a taxi.
Give me a shout if you're interested

I’m staying in Grand Hyatt in Dubai. Was staying in Abu Dhabi but we switched now. Sister been there so many times we got the hotel, which is 7k for a week 1/2 price 1/2 board for 5 of us. We are going to the first two games and fly back within a few hrs after the game so no overnight stays. Hope to meet fellow Welsh fans in hotel bars to each other games in Dubai.
