Went to yesterdays game and Brennan looked like a player yesterday who was mentally and physically tired. He has played the last 3 seasons solid with shortest of breaks between seasons due to being in the play-offs with both lincoln & Forest. i dont know what options you have but the best place for him to be imo would be to start on the bench as i think he has most probably played more minutes than any other player in your squad having made 44 appearances this season. Looked like a player who was bored with his surroundings tbh…..

I think this is a fair comment (play-offs with Lincoln, play-offs with Forest + shorter break due to World Cup, World Cup travel + Premier League minutes) and we should be mindful of looking after young players. But it will be frustrating to us on here given Forest appeared to overplay him (due to wider squad injury) which appeared to contributed to him missing out on last international window completely and he played full 90 in Palace game with Forest already safe.

I guess given Brennan's dip in form and the circumstances of what happened last time with Wales, then he probably starts on the bench, with Moore, James and Wilson attacking. You then have Ramsey (or Brooks if Ramsey remains injured) in a creative role. Would have also backed Lockyer over Rodon this time given Rodon's shocking lack of game time but that is very unlikely now I guess.
I am fighting myself here - but I think its in the best interests of Neco to rest him. His injury was horrific and he is still so young. Give him a full summer to recover, even if it may cost us - someone's health and wellbeing should be prioritised here

One day we'll release a squad with an adequate number of midfielders
Today is not that day

Its mad isn't it?
We had 2 star players for so long and we no longer have any standout players. We are very much in a similar position to where Scotland had been in the recent past - competitive but a team that needs to play to its maximum to get to the Euros. Hopefully the confidence from having qualified for 3 of the last 4 competitions will be enough. I prey Brennan can improve as much as we had hoped he would. We desperately need one or two special players to appear from somewhere!
Looking at the quality and match fitness of that squad does not instill great confidence but hopefully we can beat Armenia and take a point off Turkey so long as they all play to their potential and do not shrink in the away game especially. I feel we need something from the Turkey match as I can see us dropping points away to Armenia and/or Latvia without Gareth there to bail us out!
Oh to have Brooks firing like he was 2-3 years ago. He was special then - would be an incredible story if he got back to where he was at some point!

Neco available but no Lockyer, he will be so unlucky if he doesn't recover and make the squad

Wes Burns absence has been confirmed by Ipswich to have been due to injury.

Wes has had an illness over the last 10 days as well. Recovered from illness now as reported
But he also saw a specialist end of last week (which was planned) regarding his groin, he has been playing thru it with injections
Specialist confirming its best to have an op, 4 weeks out before he can start to run again
Illness and seeing specialist reason he missed EFL camp

Imagine we'll go with
Ward
Roberts Mepham Rodon Davies
Morrell Ampadu
Wilson Ramsey James
Moore
Maybe Neco might play not sure how fit he actually is.
Same as last time. In possession should look like
Ward
Mepham Rodon Davies
Roberts Morrell Ampadu James
Wilson Ramsey
Moore

I'm pretty sure Johnson will start this one. The only issue is neither he nor Wilson like playing on the left, so I'd probably have him in for Wilson.

where's Sorba Thomas?

I would not start with Rodon, played virtually no football over the last few months and has gone backwards imo. Have to go with cabango imo as he is at least match fit. Same issue with goalkeepers neither of them play regularly but not sure we have any other options?

Is it sold out? The back 8 rows on the Ninian don’t seem to have gone on sale, yet only single tickets have been available since last week. Odd.

I'm a fan but I think this might give him the reality check that he needs this summer and then he'll properly knuckle down and concentrate on his game, there's a quality player in Sorba, he's just lost his way a bit.

Ward Connor-Mepham-Rodon-Davies Ampadu-Ramsey Brennan-Wilson-DJ Moore
I'd have started Lockyer if fit, but without him I think we have to go with Rodon for continuity. Dropped Ramsey a bit deeper as I think we will control possession and would be good to have an extra creative player in the midfield to help try to break them down

looks like he did not make the final 25 player squad Odd one considering he's been a shoe in for the past few years and played for us recently. Also part of the training camp. Heard others say his training at his club has been poor thats why he was dropped

The other is to have his nose out of joint especially as he was part of the training camp.

No Regan Poole or Dylan Levitt is a bit odd. Is Poole injured because Low ahead of him seems odd

No Regan Poole or Dylan Levitt is a bit odd. Is Poole injured because Low ahead of him seems odd Yeah, I was hoping those two would be involved. My only guess is that it’s a bit too soon for Levitt after his injury and Poole doesn’t have a club at the moment so maybe he’s looking to secure that first (I realise that Fox is in the same position but each person is different)

I really don't get it. Why only 25 call ups for a 23-man squad? Surely, the likes of Will Vaulks and Josh Sheehan (e.g.) should be in the squad - if only for the "feel good" factor?

Likewise I am convinced that there are still 1500 or so tickets at the back of the upper tier that were never put on sale. It’s strange.

They may have sold those back 4 rows to group bookings and not put them on the online portal. There were random odd tickets appearing in those back 4 rows in the last week or so. There may still be tickets around the segregation not sold and possibly some returns from Armenia at some stage.

Not sure if I made it up or not but think there was at least one team at either last World Cup or Euros who didn't take 26 players on basis that i) 26 players usually aren't needed, ii) the more players you have the more there are to manage and potentially disrupt things if they're unhappy, iii) well-oiled squads performing to high standards tend do better in tournaments. In no way am I suggesting Vaulks and Sheehan are anything but good personalities - think we've seen enough of each to know they are good blokes - and there are obvious risks involved in not taking full cover, but there are arguments to be made to support opposite point of view. I would however take Will Vaulks knowing what a good bloke he is off the pitch and thinking he can contribute positively on it....maybe, I'm undecided.

At least to some extent.
Still. Every team needs characters in it. Hell, our 2016 squad was jam packed of characters. It feels to me that the FAW / Page are opting for "Youth-First" policy. Not saying that youth has no place. Obviously. But please. Balance.
